Rapamycin and sexual health - I've got questions!

Interesting! Thanks for sharing!

Yes! I think daily low dose PDE5i’s are fantastic - keeping nitric oxide levels up make erections possible by improving blood flow and also nourishes the smooth muscle cells of the penis.

And, it makes sense to me that Rapa + PDE5i would be a great combo. I’d love to hear more user reports.

I’ve read on the forum that some men have experienced nighttime erections for the first time in years while on Rapamycin. It’s obviously common for younger men while they sleep, but curbs in older age.

Rapamycin has had no direct effects. However, over a lifetime, the lower the BMI the better and more frequent the erections. Rapamycin may have a benefit by lowering body weight.

That’s great info. Thanks!

Amy, yes - I’ve heard many cases of “morning wood” (erections) from people here in the forum - and in our poll/survey we did before. Also - search our forums on the topic “morning wood” and you’ll find more instances I believe.

See in our survey, 15% of participants reported improved erections (not sure what percent of the poll/survey participants were male, but my gut feel is that about 60% to 70% of participants here are male, so if 15% of total respondents report improved erections, that would suggest about 20 to 25% of men got improved erections):

Did you see this post: Rapamycin Improves Erections

@RapAdmin Awesome! I figured you had a survey somewhere about this. I should have known to search for “morning wood” instead of “sexual health”!

Have your patients tried low intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS)?

Yeah… I wasn’t going to say it… but definitely a wake up thing…every day. Not complaining at almost 65 years. Lol

@JuanDaw I’ve not used pulsed ultrasound, although I’ve treated patients with low intensity Shockwave Therapy for years. I’ll check it out!

@Agetron That’s kind of amazing.

Reallly… hahaha.

Just as active as I was at 30 years completely the same. Nobody told me it should be different. Morning and night…every day.

I do take 2 capsules of Sunflower Lecithin nightly. Have for years…definitely makes a load.

Anything less would be depressing.

I’ve had two or three ‘wet dreams’ since starting on rapamycin in January. That hadn’t happened in many years!

It seems the good doctor wants to add to her arsenal of remedies, which could be rapamycin.

This is not a plug. I have never met the doctor, nor ever been to Utah.

@mike666 Yes, my approach to preventing and treating ED definitely involves “all the things.”

I have two clinics, which is confusing, but in the stem cell/regenerative medicine clinic we’re doing procedures mostly. That’s the clinic I spend most of my time (Docere clinic).

In my other office (Biorestoration), we focus on everything else - lifestyle, hormones, nutritional supplements, low intensity shockwave therapy. I have excellent practitioners who see patients there, but I’m mostly an owner/advisor at this point. I’ve recommended the providers there consider adding Rapamycin to the offerings. We’re still in discussions.

@AmyK others have replied re rapa and ED. I’ll offer direct helps non-rapa;

Watch Nathan Bryans videos on Nitric Oxide.

  • stop anticeptic mouth washes!!!
  • Your vegitarian diet should contain enough nitrates, but watch his videos.
  • There’s anti-aging reasons to be taking PDE blockers daily anyway, IE cialias, 2.5mg to 5mg / daily

Its under appreciated the health benefits of boosting NOx.

@AmyK, please please don’t underestimate the negatives and many (many) side effects of oxalate poisoning. Oxalates are in most of what you are eating being vegan. Theres alot of disinfornation or willful ignorance of the anti-nutrients in plants. Not swaying anyone just our study of N=2, but our 20yr journey has us both being carnivore due to our problems with the anti-nutrients in plants including oxalates but including the many many others.

The gut microbes that denature oxalates come and go and with gut-dis-health you may be storing alot of oxalates.

@curt504 Thank you. I’m friends with Nathan Bryan - we have spoken on many of the same events over the years and I talk a lot about nitric oxide in all of my presentations about ED. And, yes, I’m a big fan of PDE5i’s for ED but also for keeping the cells in the penis healthy (as well as many other tissues in the body). Rapamycin is much newer in the sexual health space though and I’m excited to see what, if any, benefits it offers over the other therapies I use in my office.

@Amyk, WOW impressive reply. Amazing who posts here. Comparing google results from

rapa + ed vs spermadine + ed vs shockwave + ed, actually decent search results from rapa and shockwave (no surprise) and some for spermadine.

BUT per my own experience with both, rapa+spermadine (high dose, 10mg maybe hhigher, via Hansen the swedish/norwegin quality supplier of many nutricals) do not compare in efficacy to PDE5 blockers, 10:1 or higher (N=1), where what ever the effect of rapa, senolytics, spermadine must be very low level (for me).

If I where a practicioner offer help to patients, given the costs and logistics of taking rapa and costs of spermadine, I’d not (if I where a practicioner) reco either for ED. My enlightened personal practitioner but not anti-aging gives me a 2.5mg cialias prescription. I find I need to augment with 5mg or more now and then throjgh the week. Just IMHO nothing is removing the 10mg cialis pills from the std ED protocol. I would add though, Bryans NOx protocol of avoiding antiseptic mouthwash/tooth pastes and take an exogenious source of Nitrate. Forget food sources due to the many anti nutrients in plants that the aging body can’t denature as we age.

Side comment; and jjust N=2, as we age we need to trend toward lower anti nutrient foods, which for us is buying grass fed meats driect from quality (Albrecht soil science) farmers (1000 hills in MN, a few PA amish). Also mentioning; as we age our protein needs go up to prevent sarcopenia (with or without excersize). My ability to eat volumn has gone down forcing me to use quality protein shake in AM and carnivor for rest of protein needs + a bucket of nutricals for the rest (probably mainly expensive pee but … tbd).

Please folks I would NOT reduce food/calorie intake on the basis of life extention at the expense of nutrition.

Best to all, curt

@JuanDaw Thanks! Yes, I’m always looking for the best sexual health protocols for my patients! I consider sexual health to be closely intertwined with longevity and I love it all!
