If I should take 1 supplement only, it would be Oregano oil capsules. I have had IBS for ages and struggled to get rid of my Candida build up in my lower intestine. 1 Oregano oil capsule a day from NOW made the difference. Cheap and effective. It is claimed to be one of the best anti cancer compounds out there as well, especially against prostate cancer.
Do you have some references to support that action of oregano oil?
As I clearly stated “claim”. Not proven.
I would most likely go with Berberine, due to the metabolic Effects and the AMPK activating capacity.
Berberine lowers blood glucose levels by improving insulin sensitivity, stimulating glycolysis, and inhibiting gluconeogenesis in the liver. It activates AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which enhances glucose uptake by cells and regulates energy metabolism. It reduces LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol, partly by inhibiting PCSK9, which promotes LDL clearance from the blood. These effects may reduce cardiovascular risk. Berberine acts on multiple cellular signaling pathways including AMPK, SIRT1, PKC, NF-κB, and MAPK, influencing metabolism, inflammation, and cell survival.
I agree that Berberine is a great supplement, I take Dihydro Berberine . My labs showed Feritin high and glucose high so I’m now taking Metformin. I take at least 10 supplements a day targeting eyes, brain /memory probiotic, multivitamin from Life Extension etc. I will add Taurine to my list after reading in here. I’m sure I don’t need half the pills I take because I eat only organic products, grass fed chickens, eggs, buffalo, and lots of organic fruit plus organic nuts. I am 81 years of age and I play golf four times a week. I do all my own ironing and housekeeping I go to bed at 9 PM and rise at 4:30 AM, quite often before 7 o’clock. I have washed all the floors done a pile of washing made the bed walk to the dog and had 2 cups of coffee. So I must be doing something right.
I’m off to buy Taurine
Nutritional Yeast is amazing! A multivitamin/mineral at 3 tablespoons a day, which is what I consume daily… tastes super with most foods, too! I think many ppl are not aware of it.

Damn Dee.
I got winded just reading your routine. Hahaha
You can get Taurine on Amazon very cheap.
Thank you , I will order now , I like that Brand
I just bought it off Amazon, is it ok in coffee?
Yes… I take a heaping teaspoon in my morning coffee. Can’t taste it. Great results against osteopenia and osteoporosis.
Reversed my lumbar and pelvis scores from osteopenia back to normal in a year.
I order creatine and Taurine from BulkSupplements. They seem to have favorable reviews.
Just curious if their products are tested by independent lab?
Daily high dose resveratrol with oil. I am a big fan of Dr. Sinclair
They have excellent reviews.
Someone on here was concerned about what the filler was… ahh yes silicon dioxide… it actually is good for bones too.
All I have… and my positive results.
Iodine.
If I could only take one supplement, it would be this — because iodine is foundational to cellular function across the entire body, not just the thyroid.
It’s concentrated in key organs like the thyroid, breast tissue, ovaries, testes, prostate, and brain, where it’s used for hormone production, antioxidant activity, cellular metabolism, and even gene expression regulation. Iodine is also involved in the production of iodolipids, which may have anti-cancer and antimicrobial properties — especially important in epithelial tissues (breast, prostate, colon).
What makes iodine even more critical today is our exposure to competing halogens — bromide, fluoride, and chloride — through water, food packaging, and possibly air pollution. They can displace iodine in tissues and impair thyroid function and other iodine-dependent processes.
The body cannot produce iodine, and unless you’re eating iodine-rich seaweed or seafood frequently, it’s easy to become insufficient.
I personally avoid most sea-based things, and I don’t rely on iodized salt due to inconsistent dosing (also difficult to get enough as we’re only eating 4-8g of salt/day).
Second would be gelatin or collagen (if that’s counted as supplement) — and third would be vitamin D, which I can at least partially get from sunlight.
.
But if it’s only one? Iodine.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Iodine, which has been way off my radar when it comes to “ranking” most vital supplements.
Can you elaborate, what dosage where do you get it? What type? Lithium orthonate?
