Which supplement would you take if you only could take one?

This might be difficult, but I would like to hear your thoughts on the question. “If you only could take one supplement (not medication) which would it be”? And what is the reasoning behind that choice.

Taurine… cheap… easy to take in morning coffee and fast results… health in every area is nothing without bone density! It’s the base… frame for everything else. No bone strength… no life.

Taurine took me from osteopenia back to normal in a year. My vote!

B12 is the most important to be because I don’t get it in my diet. Vit D would be #2 because I’m deficient without it.

As far as something that is an option, it would also be taurine because I felt the difference.

Cheating here, but a good multivitamin.

Lithium. It makes cells a little tougher via influence on the GSK-3 pathway. So hopefully a few less Senescent cells, a few more stem cells, and a smile on your face.

If you have any deficiencies, that’d be what I take first. Typical deficiencies are vitamin D3, B12, Taurine, Glycine and Cysteine.

I’d also put in magnesium (for D3 absorption) and creatine. Those 7 are the core foundation supplements IMHO.

Is there a significance to the color of the M & M:  :
Partial to the green ones (good for sex health I am told).

Maybe Aspirin? One of the few that works against cancer.

Torn between fish oil and magnesium?

This brilliant question had me thinking about deficiencies and how to avoid them. Most supplements are actually readily and better substituted with food. Most of mine i only take once or twice a week as insurance.

  1. Omega 3 - eating more fish likely to be superior
  2. B12 - chicken liver pate and sardines
  3. magnesium nuts
  4. zinc - nuts, oysters, grass fed beef
  5. vit k2 - natto
  6. vit D - sunshine/dog walk
  7. pycnogenol - anthocyanins firm blueberries, red onion and red cabbage
  8. choline - eggs
  9. probiotics - having a dog, kefir, sauerkraut
19 methylfolate - puy lentils, leafy greens

i was left with taurine as my 1 supplement
oh and maybe low dose lithium

Would drink Kombucha daily increase your B12?

My Kombucha comes with added 36mcg B 12 and I drink up to 2 a day.

Thx @Jonas
Which kombucha do you like?

I love kombucha but got off my habit because it spikes my glucose so high, but now that I’m on dapagliflozin, I should probably revisit this, especially because I think my gut could use some improvement

My b12 is in my Blueprint essential capsule and also in the kachava protein shake. However, I think I most likely have absorption issues, so I imagine more is only a good thing.

I constantly tinker with my list and rotate it as I learn more.

Here are the current stacks and purposes:

Cognitive & Mental Clarity

  1. Fish Oil (1500-2000 mg EPA/DHA): Omega-3s boost brain health and control inflammation.
  2. NAC: Enhances mental clarity, glutathione.
  3. Lion’s Mane: Promotes cognitive clarity via NGF.
  4. Magnesium: Supports brain function and stress relief.

Cellular Energy
5. Nicotinamide Riboside (NR): Boosts NAD+, mitochondrial energy.
6. CoQ10: Supports mitochondrial energy and heart health.
7. Creatine: Enhances ATP production and cognitive support. Safe, well-studied.

Blood Flow
8. Ginkgo Biloba: Improves circulation, cognition.
9. Astaxanthin: Antioxidant, may support circulation.

Antioxidant & Liver Support
10. Glutathione: Antioxidant, detox support.
11. Milk Thistle: Liver health, indirect antioxidant.
12. Spirulina: Antioxidant support.

Vitamin B12. I have issues with muscularskeletal and nerves. This has also along with Vit D pulled me out of depression but see how hard it is to choose just one? :grinning:

Bragg premium has 22.5 mcg per 15 grams.

Tastes good in broth.

Vit B12 heat stable until 100C (212F).

Cooking doesn’t destroy it. Vitamin B-12 doesn’t break down for several hours. This is so even at the boiling point of water.

The half-life is about 6 days.

So you don’t have to take the broth daily.

@JuanDaw Eureka! I love nutritional yeast and forgot it has b12! I mix it with cashew cream (blended cashews and water… nectar of the gods) and make cheesy sauces! I had no idea we didn’t need to take b12 daily! Gosh, I love you all!

Just 1 brazil nut a day…delicious and you get your Selenium
And, a few Mac Nuts a day. You get the MUFA specially omega 7(not widely found in other foods) and omega 9.Omega-7 (palmitoleic acid) can reduce insulin resistance and lower blood glucose besides anti inflammatory affects!
Few times a month, I use Foxnuts. Contains compounds like flavonoids and kaempferol, which help fight inflammation and oxidative stress. High calcium and phos for bones and high fiber! Low GI.
I call them supplenuts.
