Starting rapamycin next month - 27 years old

I’m going to try through Instant Scripts. Not 100% sure if it will work or not but am going to try. They are $49 for a consult.

If I get a script, then according to the Chemist Whitehouse website, as I have a Medicare Card, I should get them for $41.

Just tell them you have had a kidney transplant & can’t see your regular specialist as you’re travelling. If you tell them its for aging they will probably say no or give a private script sadly most doctors here in aus don’t know anything about rapamycin/aging

Haha - love it! I don’t know if my poker face is good enough to be able to do that :joy:
I’ll try with the longevity route. Fingers crossed for a PBS script and not a private one.
Will post either way to let everyone know how I go……

LOL for me it was easy as it was over the phone. The doctor said no worries and no questions asked but if you can get some compelling longevity data and convince them, def do that  good luck. For me its difficult to convince a doctor to prescribe rapamycin for aging cause I’m in my 20s… if I was in my 80s might be easier haha .

Anyway, every doctor is of course different. I’ve had doctors give me metformin even though I got no diabetes. I just told them for prevention and they said yes. while others doctors say no straight up.

Got my blood work done 2 weeks ago. Everything is looking good! I’ve recently added acarbose daily with high carb/sugar meals. no gas etc. so far so good. I’ll be 28 in 3 weeks.

Wow - you’re lucky. What is your typical diet look like (types of carbs you take - rice?)

Yes usually rice & pasta (gnocchi).I do eat lots of sushi. Other carbs include fruit carbs.

Hmmm… do you also eat regular wheat-based / semolina pasta, or something unusual like high protein pasta (I feed my kids chickpea pasta, for example). Gnocchi is actually potato right…

no I havent tried the high protein pasta yet, but i want to give them a try and yes you’re right, gnocchi is a potato not pasta my bad. Other carbs I have is oatmeal porridge, I usually have oats almost daily for breakfast.

I “suspect” the reason you’re not having problems with gas is that your diet seems low in wheat based products.

this makes sense, I rarely eat any wheat products i believe its why acarbose is gentle on me compared to other people

how much acarbose are you taking?

50mg with a meal, sometimes more or less depending on how high carb/sugar it is

Just got a recent blood test

White cell counts, iron, liver kidney cholesterol are all fine. Last rapamycin dose was 5 days ago ( 4mg).

I turned 28 11 days ago so I’ve officially been on rapamycin since 27 years old! yay. Lets keep going. I’m glad I started all this anti aging stuff at 27 as I’m dreading 30 (no offence lol) just cant believe I’m almost 30, time is flying… and I feel so young inside so I need to ignore my age and focus on what I feel inside. Age really is just a number, just how many times the earth went around the sun .

Going to get a rapamycin serum blood test next month to test my rapamycin blood serums , 2 hours after taking the dose and 7 days after to see how much is still in my blood, if there is still rapamycin in my blood after 7 days I might push back dosing to every 8-10 days, as I don’t want to inhibit mTOR always as I’m still quiet young and obviously want to build/maintain muscle and if mTOR is always inhibit this may be difficult. So I’ll try and find the right balance by intermittent dosing at the correct times according to what the rapamycin blood serum level tests show.
