Hi,
My name is Conchita In 2020 I participated in a drug study. in the Netherlands hospital Umc Radboud at Nijmegen with rapamycin also know as Sirolimus, because of my Microcystic lymphatic malformation. I started with 1 pill of 1 mg daily. I had to take a blood test every week and in the second week they saw that I had almost lost all of my white blood cells and had to stop immediately. my doctor wants to try it again. In my case is it wise to take it every day?? or a higher dose once a week? because I saw that on YouTube in an interview with Dr.Ross Pelton.
Can someone please advise me?
Sincerely Conchita
Hi, and Welcome to the site Conchita,
Our focus here is primarily rapamycin for improving healthspan and lifespan. I don’t know how many people here have any experience with “Microcystic lymphatic malformation” but from the lack of response to your message, I suspect not too many.
For our application most of us take rapamycin approximately once every week, so that we can avoid the issues that can come with daily dosing of rapamycin (like immune suppression)… you can read up on the details and discussion around dosing in this thread on our site: What is the Rapamycin Dose / Dosage for Anti-Aging or Longevity?
But I have no idea of the optimal dose and dose timing for your medical condition - I’m sorry I can’t be of more help.
Generally, most of us here feel that dosing once a week at a high dose is “safer” (lower side effects) than lower dosing every day. But most of us here are not medical professionals and can’t give you any medical advice.
We have had some discussions on the site about daily dosing, as its been something other people here have considered. I recommend you review those discussions at the links below:
