Generally Good Indian Pharma Companies

Hi
I order from Oddway international in India - recommended on the forum and relatively easy. Good communication and direct payment via bank transfer, no reps to deal with. Fine so far (I’m in Scotland)

Thanks Wiley, still having trouble. Why so difficult? Santa Cruz wanted $63 a tablet!

@sharonmcknight What are you trying to order? I’ve ordered over 15 different meds and 15 packages/shipments in last 6 months from India and I have encountered no problems whatsoever. Are you sure you’re contacting the usual guys that we all/most order from?

I am, and even through IndiaMart. A few were scammers after researching them or their companies on the internet. One company wanted $63 a tablet! Ridiculous.

Perhaps you are requesting a prescription that is uncommon in Southeast Asia or one that is a very highly regulated substance? In the case of the former, you might be able to find a very similar prescription that IS common in SEAsia.

Just looking for Rapamycin, and a small quantity to start as I spoke to someone on here that had a bad reaction to it.

I want to ask if anyone is buying these from India.

I asked for pricing for:
Dutasteride, Ezetimibe, Rosuvastatin, and Candesartan.

I got back great pricing ($10 for 100 pills), but none of these are from top tier manufacturers, so I’m here asking for opinions

Dutanol from Knoll
Zetiheal from Healing
Rosufree from Healing
Candevac from Prevago

I asked if the brand names were available and was given these options, but he is already paying less than these prices for generics at US pharmacies.
Dutas from Dr Reddy’s
Ezedoc from Lupin
Rosuvas from Sun Pharma

I’ll get tretinoin from Healing because I’m not really worried about the highest quality topical. There are very mixed reviews online even for that one, so?

Any feedback would be great! Also @Kirtti

“tretinoin from Healing”
I have a prescription for tretinoin. Even though the Healing brand has a slight medicinal smell, I prefer it to my American brand.

Healing Pharma, is a relatively new small manufactmanufacturer of generics. It gets mixed reviews, depending on who you ask.

FWIW: I have used some of their generics and was happy with them. I have been supplied Healing Pharma meds from both Jagdish and Maulik. Jagdish mentioned that he is a pharmacist, so I hope his judgement is good about what brands he is selling

If you’re in the USA, Laxminarayan Pharmaceuticals has been great, and Maulik sounds good too. Note that you will always be paying $30-40 for shipping and so may wish to get a decent amount in one order of this fairly low-cost medication. 1mg pills are the most typical. Zydus is an especially trusted brand on this forum, but Eris/Biocon, which is cheaper, also seems to be fine. You will likely need to do a wire transfer to complete the purchase.

Thank you! Unsure if I want a large amount for the first time, spoke with someone here who had a crappy reaction to it. Is there a charge for a wire transfer? Can I use my checking acct for a wire transfer? Never did it before.

Banks typically charge $45 to $60 for a wire transfer. Better to use wise.com

Thanks! Still having problems, just wentto two sites someone suggested here, no luck.

I have used Remitly and had a 3.99 fee both times.

Are you perhaps trying to obtain a unique dosage of rapamycin? Although my considerable health conditions would have suggested that starting at 0.25 or 0.5mg would be ideal, I just had to take a dive off the deep end. (In fact I was initially able to get a prescription, but it was written for 2mg tablets, so I had far higher starting dose than recommended—it was really rough on me, as was the first titration from 2mg to 4.) Anyhow, the smaller doses are really more of a Western phenomenon. Most sellers seem to only have 1mg pills. Occasionally some carry 2mg pills but with no real cost benefit for getting those tablets versus the 1mg.

I do know that Laxminarayan did not get the message I sent him off of his website but did get the message I sent through India mart. The India mart messaging system often has technical issues, however. So I’ve switched to using what’s app with him.

I can’t think of anything else that would be causing you troubles, so your situation is a bit of a mystery to me.

You’ll have to figure out the cost benefit/ waste ratio in terms of how much you order. Since some packages are getting really held up, it would seem prudent to at LEAST buy what you estimate to be a three month trial (with however you might titrate up) PLUS an additional three months’ worth. Then you could reorder in three months’ time and still be pretty safe in terms of having a stock while you wait. If I were you, with the cost benefit ratio, I’d probably aim to get what I estimate to be a nine month trial with its gradual titrations (and place a reorder at the six month mark).

Thanks so much…I am contacting reputable people/companies and it is a back and forth-getting nowhere conversation. It’s like they don’t understand English, no offense, but that is what it seems like. I will pose a question and they write back something that makes no sense and it is really frustrating as this has been going on for months now. I cannot place a simple order with anyone.
Sharon

I don’t doubt for a moment that you are having these experiences. At the same time, I must say I find it very unusual. I cannot understand what seems to be the problem. There have been dozens and dozens of US clients buying from vendors in India and I cannot recall one who has had repeated problems with initiating transactions with so many vendors that not one has worked. Something is very odd here.

Here’s an example of a query I do with a new vendor - I try to communicate exclusively through email. So, I hit up a vendor - cold, never having contactated them before. Here’s my initial email:

SUBJECT LINE: Medication Order Price Inquiry - shipping to USA

However I am limited on time - I will be traveling soon and need these medications by then. Please let me know if you can locate Forxiga 5mg and Pivasta 4mg and by what date you can definitely ship them. I will wait to hear from you soon.

Thank you!

All the best.

The vendor responded:

Hi,

All 3 brands specified by you will be made available.
You can go ahead with the payment.
USD Total USD 624 ( INR 54520.00)
Please make it in INR. INR transfer is instant. If you pay us in USD it might take 3 days to clear.

Thanks.

Boom. Done. And this was a little more “complicated”, because there was an initial back and forth about the exact brand. Other vendors have had stuff available immediately and we did the deal with no issues.

OK, seems to me pretty simple. I’m not clear on at which stage are you having problems? Anyhow I hope you find this helpful. Best of luck!

Has anyone had trouble sending money to India via WISE? I have been using them for years to pay for meds, but in February they automatically cancelled three attempts to send the money. When queried they blamed my bank, but that turned out to be not true. I then used Remitly and it went through without a hitch.

How are you defining the payment (in Wise)? I think it has to be defined as “services”, not products (they are more suspicious of “product” sales I’ve heard from Indian vendors).

Well that is something I haven’t experienced! I am getting very “short” answers, then in the next email sent they say “Did you pay yet?” Or the one email, I responded and the name of the company was misspelled! ust two examples…thank you!

I’ve created a new prompt to help people identify the most likely to be “good” or acceptable drug companies and products for a given generic category of medicine (e.g. GLP1s, sirolimus, etc.). It gives you the two most likely higher quality options, and some rationale. Just enter the generic drug names in the last part of the prompt below:

Prompt to identify best company/product in given generic drug classification

Role: Act as a Senior Pharmaceutical Procurement Specialist and Quality Assurance Auditor equipped with real-time web browsing capabilities. Your objective is to identify the highest quality Indian generic pharmaceutical manufacturers, specific brand/product names, and currently available dose configurations for a provided list of generic drug compounds.

Task: For each generic compound listed at the end of this prompt, provide the top two (2) Indian generic brand options. Base your selection strictly on the probability of superior manufacturing quality, bioequivalence, and regulatory compliance. Crucially, you must perform a live web search using Indian pharmaceutical databases (e.g., Tata 1mg, Apollo Pharmacy, Netmeds, or PharmEasy) to identify the specific dose options (e.g., 5mg, 10mg, 20mg) currently available on the market for each of your two selected brand options.

Evaluation Criteria (Ranked by Importance):

  1. Regulatory Footprint: Prioritize companies with a high volume of FDA (USA) and EMA (Europe) approved Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs).
  2. Compliance History (Past 5 Years): Evaluate the frequency and severity of FDA recalls, Form 483 observations, and FDA Warning Letters. Exclude or penalize companies with recent data integrity violations or systemic Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) failures.
  3. Company Scale & Capitalization: Factor in revenue and market capitalization, operating under the assumption that larger entities (e.g., Sun Pharma, Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s) possess greater capital for quality control infrastructure.
  4. Supply Chain Vertical Integration: Prioritize manufacturers that produce their own Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in-house rather than outsourcing, as this mitigates external contamination and quality degradation risks.
  5. WHO Prequalification: Note if the facility or product holds WHO Prequalification.

Output Format: For each compound, output a structured response using the exact markup layout below. Always include embedded URLs to the source materials where the dose information was verified.

[Generic Compound Name]

  • Option 1: [Brand Name] by [Manufacturer Name]
    • Available Dosages (Live Search): [List exact dosages found via real-time search, e.g., 10mg, 20mg tablets. Include an embedded hyperlink to the online pharmacy or manufacturer source verifying this availability].
    • Quality Rationale: [Concise academic justification citing company size, FDA/EMA footprint, and API vertical integration].
    • Compliance Note: [Summary of recent FDA recall/warning letter history for this manufacturer].
  • Option 2: [Brand Name] by [Manufacturer Name]
    • Available Dosages (Live Search): [List exact dosages found with embedded source link].
    • Quality Rationale: [Concise academic justification].
    • Compliance Note: [Summary of compliance history].

Execution Parameters:

  • Mandatory Search: You must query live pharmaceutical databases to verify the exact dosage SKUs actively produced by the manufacturer under that specific brand name. Do not hallucinate dosages based on standard generic prescribing guidelines.
  • Data Limitations: Explicitly state if data regarding a specific company’s recent recalls, FDA 483s, or current dosage availability is missing from your live search results or training data.
  • Longevity Therapeutics Context: If a requested compound is utilized in longevity protocols (e.g., mTOR inhibitors, AMPK activators), note if the available dosages align with typical anti-aging clinical dosing strategies.

Target Compounds: [INSERT YOUR DRUG LIST HERE]

Here is an example, for this list of generic drugs:

.Target Compounds: [propranolol, Galantamine, Sirolimus, Bempadoic Acid, ezetimibe, Tadalafil, sildenafil, Empagliflozin, Minoxidil tablets, Dutasteride, Modafinil, Maraviroc, Clomid, GLP-1, Rybelsus, Imeglimin]

Gemini 3 Pro results:

Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Procurement Audit: Indian Generics

The following audit evaluates top-tier Indian generic manufacturers for the requested therapeutic compounds. Selections are predicated on corporate capitalization, active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) vertical integration, Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) volumes, and historical adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) enforced by the FDA and EMA.

Data Limitation Disclaimer: Live searches via indices like Tata 1mg confirm current domestic Indian SKUs and dosages. However, specific internal FDA Form 483 observation details, proprietary recall data for regional facilities, and precise WHO Prequalification status for individual SKUs (rather than facilities) may not be exhaustively captured in public retail indices.
