Frank Grillo! the ultimate B movie bad guy
Hes always been a stud, good genes make a difference.
ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph
We all know that amazing athlete in our circles who can play any sport, eat anything and never gain an oz. Pump any weight and gain muscle, look years younger, etc.
Most people have to work extremely hard to come anywhere near their level of genetically endowed fitness. Interestingly they all die just like the rest of us, only with a more beautiful corpse.
Mormons seem to age well. Johnny Harris recent video about the church is good (the first 10 minutes is quite spiritual): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23owsv-R0fs
The current religious leader is 101 years old, many of them lived over 90 years old:

Branyas had cells that “felt” or “behaved” as though they were much younger than her chronological age. She exceeded the average life expectancy of women in her home of Catalonia by more than 30 years.

Chuck Norris Celebrates 85th Birthday by Climbing Iconic Peak
The famed American star of Walker, Texas Ranger and Delta Force fame, celebrated his 85th birthday in classic form—by climbing California’s Lassen Peak, a summit of 10,457 feet.
“What a day! I had the pleasure of hiking Lassen Peak once again. While it was heartbreaking to see the damage left behind by the 2021 Dixie Fire, the park’s beauty still shines through. Walking those trails brought back so many wonderful memories,” Norris wrote on Instagram. “My wife grew up around these parts, and I’ll always be grateful she introduced me to such magnificent sights.”

Chuck is looking pretty good for 85.
Ok, @Desertshores. He’s a year older than you, but could you whup him?
Chuck has always stayed in shape, got a lot of exercise b/c his livelihood depended on it. And wasn’t he hawking home gym equipment a few years ago? Also probably his martial arts skills are still mostly there… maybe no high kicks but ?? That said, I too am betting on @desertshores winning the longevity contest… unless Chuck is a stealthy member of this forum!
When Chuck Norris does a push-up, he isn’t lifting himself up, he’s pushing the Earth down.
Hahaha. Chuck Norris jokes.
Chuck Norris has a grizzly bear rug in his bedroom. It’s not dead. It’s just too scared to move.
Death had a near Chuck Norris experience once.
When 9-1-1 has an emergency, it calls Chuck Norris.
Check this out. This is what I aspire to be at 99.
“Dick Van Dyke, 99, flexes his muscles at the gym with unlikely celebrity pal.”
‘Somebody said, “To what do you attribute your age and physical condition?” And I said, “I’ve always exercised.” Three days a week, we go to the gym, still. Three days a week,’ the star explained
Funny thing is, he was a severe alcoholic for many years. Somehow he lived through it and is almost 100 (if he makes it to December!).
Meanwhile, various health nuts croak in their 70’s or 80’s. He does exercise though, 3 times a week. But so what? Jack LaLanne built his whole life around health, diet and exercise, didn’t touch alcohol, and only made it to 96, same as his brother who never exercised and ate crap. Let’s face it: it’s the genes.
If you want a chance at beating your genes, just hoping diet and exercise will do it is a slender reed. You better hope a carefully chosen drug cocktail does the trick for longevity in good health with middling genes, because genetic engineering is still a long way off (plus easiest to implement before born, lol).
I think desertshores has had that insight decades ago, which is why he’s tried every drug and supplement under the sky😁.
Plus rapamycin, lithium and melotonin
It may be a bit unfair to compare Jack LaLanne to his brother based purely on age at death. He died of pneumonia, so perhaps if he’d just gone to a doctor sooner, he could have lived another 10 years.
Well, everyone dies of something eventually. It’s not like he was hit by a truck. His immune system just was not strong enough, so he died. Older people with weak immunity regularly die of the flu, while 100+ year olds survive it, because theirs is strong enough. Jack LaLanne’s immune system was too weak, and he died. So it’s fair to point out that his body was not strong enough to meet the challenges of his environment at 96, and he gave up the ghost. You are as young as your immune system, we know that from rapamycin too. Jack LaLanne did not make the cut. I wonder if for example these two had as rigorous health regimens as Jack:
Ellison looks good in the photo, but the recent one doesn’t look as good (see below, double click on the image to make it full size). With a few hundred billion $, I’m sure you can look even better
