The Everything Technology and Longevity Thread

Just came across this and thought it might be something that would be valuable for our parents, or anyone interested in simplifying their dosing and scheduling of supplements and longevity medications (not all of us have an assistant like Bryan Johnson, to organize our vitamins and medications into little daily pill containers).

I’m thinking something like this might be good for my father:

Can hold 10 meds… wondering where I can find counter space for half a dozen of them.

So, how long before health insurance companies get ahold of the data to see if you’re taking your medication?

Just use this…

Who takes just 10 pills a day anyways?

It does take me perhaps an hour a week to sort out supplements for a week. I am not sure such a collection of machines would improve the situation. At the moment there is quite a bit of work, but it is clear what is being done.

My thoughts exactly :joy: :joy: :joy:

Very organised. Mine is… a bit more… ‘organic’ :joy: :joy: :joy:

(P.S. It is only a matter of time before I start having nightmares that my supplements come to life and attack me while I’m sleeping)

There is, of course, more than just the supplements.

In the spirit of the technology thread, I share a magic eye mask that will put sleep doctors out of business.

In case the sarcasm wasn’t obvious, I’m highly skeptical.

Thanks for posting this – good to see someone else using those pill sorter boxes. I have one for morning, one for dinner and one for evening (with a special fourth for travel). By organizing that way I can fill once every four weeks. Still, the compartments fill up and I have to “triage” some of the supplements – take some of them once or twice a week instead of daily. I sometimes feel so crazy taking all these pills – good to know others are doing the same!

If you’re on this site my guess is you’re taking your fair share of pills. So no judgement here!

Maybe being less organized is good if it means forgetting sometimes, not having time sometimes…think of the cost savings, not to mention to drop in persistent polypharmacy.

It looks like you don’t buy the unit, you just buy a monthly subscription. I hate that subscription model, especially on a physical unit like this. What a racket.

I recognize those rainbow daily pill boxes in the case… the exact same ones I use… love them!

I use those for my extra AMPK and HDAC doses.

Digital health for aging populations

Growing life expectancy poses important societal challenges, placing an increasing burden on ever more strained health systems. Digital technologies offer tremendous potential for shifting from traditional medical routines to remote medicine and transforming our ability to manage health and independence in aging populations. In this Perspective, we summarize the current progress toward, and challenges and future opportunities of, harnessing digital technologies for effective geriatric care. Special attention is given to the role of wearables in assisting older adults to monitor their health and maintain independence at home. Challenges to the widespread future use of digital technologies in this population will be discussed, along with a vision for how such technologies will shape the future of healthy aging.
