It’s that arbitrary time for labs again, so I queued up some labs in MarekHealth - and was shocked at the jump in prices. A simple sirolimus test has gone from ~$60 → $100 in less than a year. So I started looking for alternatives. I happened upon DrSays.com, which is currently offering choose-your-own labs for cost + $9.99, so a total of $53.
It’s a significant savings when you string a series of tests together so I figured I’d share.

The cheapest test I know of was offered was Healthspan, at 25$. Hopefully, they still offer it at that price.

I wrote several times about the sudden and shockingly high price increases from Marek Health. Apparently this was a decision by a new CEO whose bright idea was that you can increase profits by squeezing your customers. Pure greedy money grab, with zero value added for that pleasure. Previously I spent thousands of $ for dozens of tests. Now I’m done with these jokers. As a consumer, you have the power to punish these kinds of zero value added money grabs. If they have no respect for you as a loyal customer, they should lose your trust. Move on, let the market punish them.
That is disappointing, especially since this testing market is becoming more competitive. No reason to stick with them, with the many options available. It’s liberating to not have to depend on a pcp for a test, especially when it’s often in the 3-20$ range.
