Peptides Ipamorelin

I started taking Ipamorelin about 2 weeks ago. It stimulates growth hormone. I did it to help with muscle building, but I’m uncertain about it’s safety, given that we know from rapamycin research that overstimulating growth is a factor in aging. Plus, growth hormone can cause a problem with insulin sensitivity.

Has anyone here taken any peptides? Any experience with Ipamorelin?

Ideally, you should have taken an igf1 test to get an idea about your base levels. I suggest you take one in 4 to 6 weeks. You should be in the upper range at the end of your cycle if your dose is adequate. But not too high!

You won’t end up with supra levels of GH with ipamorelin, it just works to amplify gh release from your own pituatary gland.

For insulin issues, a GLP1 agonist will do wonders. I assume an SGLT2 inhibitor will also help.

Whats your dosage and schedule like?

I tried it. Didn’t feel any benefits and I found the need to not eat for hours beforehand and an hour afterwards to interrupt my schedule. I felt chained to this substance and was glad to be done with it.

I had top of the reference range IGF1 but honestly it isn’t even something that helps longevity anyway from what I have read.

Have you felt any benefits?

I’ve tried BPC157 and TB500. I think TB500 felt good, hard to pinpoint what exactly. My concern with both of these is increased risk of cancer so I’m not going to use these again unless I have a muscle or tendon injury. I used them right after a very minor surgery. Did it speed up healing? I don’t have a control on that so I don’t know.

I use tirzepatide once a week. Of all peptides that are spoken about when people in the biohacking/longevity space speak of peptides, GLP1 agonists are the most beneficial and effective.

Thanks [qBx123Yk. I’m doing 10 mcg in the morning on an empty stomach & another 10 before bed. I plan on doing it for 8 weeks, although I might combine it with metformin & DHEA like Greg Fahy did, and do it much longer in order to regenerate my thymus.

Where can I get an igf1 test? Also, do you know of a good anti-aging doctor? I’d love who can guide me with regular labwork.

I’ve only been taking it two weeks. However, I seem like I might have less abdominal fat, & my muscles seem a bit more defined. But that could be my imagination, kind of placebo-ish.

@DrFraser here would be hard to beat. He does telemedicine too.

Did you mean 100mcg, or 10mcg? The starting dose is usually around 100mcg, anf up to 300 mcg per day.

As for igf1 testing, marek Health has one for 45$. I use fitomics, which is useful if you’re going to repeat tests, and paid 14$ for an igf1 test . It requires a membership, and I think they do offer a telemedicine option if you want to review your results with a professional.

I am also intrigued by the Fahy paper, and plan to use a combination of tesamorelin and ipamorelin for the gh part. Any idea of what markers you’ll be tracking to assess efficacy?

Also if you want to go that route why not try ibutamoren instead? It’s oral instead of an injectable and has safety data at least among the pediatric population — now undergoing phase III trial as a replacement for HGH shots for children with HGH deficiency.

If you had done even the most casual search, you would have found this extensive thread.

I’ve been taking a combo shot of Ipamorelin (400mcg) + CJC 1295 noDAC (250mcg) 5 nights a week for over 20 months. Every couple of months I take a week off.

While it does increase hGH it doesn’t make your muscles “grow” and it’s doesn’t give you strength. hGH may support muscle growth in some areas of the body if you exercise and it may help with strength IF you are exercising. But it may increase the lean to fat ratio.

I take it as part of my modified TRIIM protocol for thymus rejuvenation.

hGH also supports the body’s ability to make collagen and both my wife and I have noticed an improvement in skin tone.

hGH is also required for tendon and ligament healing.

hGH is not the best thing for weight management.

My mistake. I was thinking about the numbers on the syringe. I’m actually 300 mcg twice a day.

Thanks for the info on test cos. I’ll try fitomics because I want repeat testing.

Re: Fahy - I don’t know yet what markers I’ll track. I know I want to monitor insulin resistance. Other than that, I’ll probably need to talk with a doctor. Medaura mentioned Dr. Fraser. I’ll check him out.

Thanks. I guess you’ve used him. I’ve seen him answer some questions on this site. I’ll look into using him. Most doctors aren’t aware of most of this so we need someone who is.

Yes, I found this right after I posted my question. Nonetheless, I’m glad I asked because I got some info that wasn’t on this thread.

BTW, did you mean this in a snarky way? Doesn’t matter to me, just sounded that way.

Thanks. I’ve been working out with weights all my life, but as I’ve aged it’s harder to build muscle

Yes, it does sound a little curt, which I can be sometimes. Didn’t mean to be rude.

Have you had your testosterone levels checked?

Yes, it was part of my physical. If I remember right, it was in the 400-500 range.
