Does taking Rapamycin help reduce a high LP(a)? Also, I have recently heard that if your total cholesterol is below 200, you are at higher risk for dementia! Thoughts on either of these please?
I have never heard of Rapamycin lowering LPa, however it would be awesome if it does. I can more imagine it decreasing the inflammatory effect of LPa and thus decrease arterial inflammation / plaque formation.
I have not heard about the below 200 cholesterol increasing your risk of dementia. Several steps away from understanding dementia, I think of it more as a neurologic/ vascular issue with plaque formation being an end stage. @tongMD has an interest in this with I am sure more insight.
It has had no effect on LP(a) for me over 3 years at progressively increasing doses.
anyone know of any supplements that could reduce LP (a)?
Thank you. This article is very helpful. The Apheresis would seem to be the last option after exploring supplemental options.

The article and references are easy and actually fun to read, but not very current.
