Every person involved needs to be brought to justice. I don’t care what ramifications this has. These people are in positions of power above us and they are dangerous.

I want it to happen so badly. I feel like a few low hanging fruit like Attia will be sacrificed to keep more powerful people safe.
There is likely no legal way for these people to be brought to justice, but it’s not unprecedented in history for people to still be punished regardless. But for legal reasons I’m not advocating for this.

The examples you’ve plucked out are of men who exaggerated their own faults in their own eyes and those of the world due to a persnickety sense of conscience.
The things we’re talking about or alluding to here would be completely outside their moral imaginations.
I’m no stranger to socially unacceptable thoughts and desires. In real life I have faced down enemies in court or business and have been ruthless and have actually wished them dead. But this was meeting an opponent where they stand — war among adults and by equal means and against people who really were pieces of shit and no one should mourn if they kicked the bucket — and no I have neither acted on my fantasies of slitting throats nor admired those who have in history. Whereas what we’re talking about here is abuse and exploitation, grotesquely disgusting behavior and proclivities. I’m not sure what the point of debate is anymore.
For Peter Attia – he is in free fall right now. Going to hit bottom pretty hard. All his effort… long hours… climbing to the top… hoping to be the next Dr. Sanjay Gupta - all completely undone. His co-author, his products and now his national platform CBS - all gone. Unfortunate he wasn’t happy with just a lot --enough - there is a cautionary tale here.

There is no giving the benefit of the doubt to this guy. All the people who protected or looked the other way to someone hurting those without a voice are depraved. Those girls are ruined forever because everyone wanted to give the benefit of the doubt to their rich connected buddy.

@flatlander_woman that was very good. We can see clearly, that for some, even after seeing the emails with their own eyes, still say well we don’t know enough and should not rush to judgment. I now realize there is almost nothing that would make them feel differently
I hadn’t heard anything about this until I just checked. He was the target of some deepfake videos but is still CNN’s chief medical correspondent and a practicing neurosurgeon, so it sounds like he’s fine(?)

@Kelman I think he’ll continue to have an audience, even if smaller… I can see a scenario where he keeps putting out content. I think there is a decent chance his buddies will continue to support him… unless it becomes inconvenient

I have a bad feeling about him. He doesn’t strike me as someone who is capable of handling this much this fast. At this point he seems to be the hardest hit. I haven’t seen anyone else getting his contract cancelled or fired?

If he knew this was coming out and he gave his family the heads up and if they are behind him, they I imagine he will be fine
If he didn’t, and and they are not, (for example, if his wife is only now finding out he was with JE when the kid was in the hospital, and if the kid is not talking to him, or about the relationship he had with ‘Kelly’ etc), then I think things could get pretty dark

I don’t know what proportion you have in mind when you say, “pathological percentage” but of the men I have been close to over these many decades, I don’t know one who would not be repulsed or otherwise nonplussed by the thought of having sexual relations – much less non-consensual relations – with a 13 year old child. If you say ‘some men’ – of course, deviance is found everywhere; but on balance, this is not who men are. The equation changes, of course, when considering the mind of a teenage boy where some forms of mental development are yet to come and the age difference is small.
