Was just googling a question about rapamycin when a link to “Healthspan” popped up.
“Healthspan is the first-ever digital medical clinic to help patients fight cellular senescence and regain control over the levers of aging that are at the foundation of most age-related chronic diseases”
They sound too good to be true. Will prescribe, ship to you, monitor, etc. U.S. based.
Are they brand new? Do they sound legit? Any info or insights would be helpful.
I used Healthspan at first. I thought it was a good company that offered an honest service. I recommend it to newbies who want to dip a toe. Working with a doctor (like @DrFraser here) is better for a much higher attention to your personal health status and goals. I couldn’t find a doctor when I started so Healthspan was a great way to start. Good luck.
It’s not perfect, but you get a prescription for an FDA-approved formulation of the drugs they offer from a U.S.-based pharmacy, along with some periodic blood tests and physican monitoring, and their communication is good. My husband used them for about 2 years, while I used two different local functional/integrative medicine physicans, just to compare protocols. I can’t say either of my doctors were any better, except that I was able to meet with them face-to-face.
I agree Healthspan seems to be great for folks who are choosing what they want to pursue.
The risk is overlooking things one is not aware of, and doing a lot of the clever cutting edge things, which may or may not work, and not meticulously managing the known killers and disablers (or doing some self testing that isn’t that specific and being falsely reassured).
Agree! I enjoy learning about everything on here and will continue to do so, but the most important thing I do is have Dr Fraser put it all together for me in a way that makes sense for my individual biology.
I use Healthspan for my blood work. They have great packages and the CEO is on these boards. He helped me out when there was a technical glitch in one of my orders. I will be using them for my blood work from here on out.
I’m on the mailing list of healthspan, and today I received this about their new supplements.
Obviously, they are selling something, but I did find it educational. I would imagine the more advanced people on here would not learn anything, but their content might be good for other novices out there, like me.
From the video, it seems like they might offer guidance on the various items one is taking, including supplements. On that note, they did answer my question the other day and advised me not to take Urolithin A on the days I take rapa.
I’m assuming the advise they give is quality, but I have no idea! Do chime in if anyone has opinions on the matter.
I have used Healthspan for my Rapa for the past year or so. It’s basically $120/month for a rap prescription plus blood tests. They also send informative e-mails on various longevity topics. The nice things is you can pause your subscription at any time if you want to lower costs. Most recently I’ve been doing 3 months on followed by 3 months off, so the total cost will be around $720 for the year. Otherwise it would be double that If I stayed on Rapa constantly. I also secured some rap from India, so I occasionally will up my dosage slightly.
