After Two Weeks Rapamycin Treatment

Last night at 11pm was my weekly rapamycin dose… 2 mg rapamycin/zydus with GFJ.
I get about a 6 times increase based on Labcorp tests. So about 12ng/mL based on years of tests. Will do yet another set of tests in April.

Woke up groggy/fatigued… had 2 capsules 780 mg activated charcoal capsules with breakfast… 2 more at lunch. All great… groggy/fatigue gone.

I will do one more charcoal capsule tomorrow with breakfast and be done until next dose.

It’s a great idea to use it frequently! Will try to follow your steps.

Jason,

If you have any info on how the rapamycin “process” in the body can be physically aided by charcoal I’d like to hear it?
If rapa contributes to autophagy, doesn’t the body just recycle the old cell material?

Any info appreciated.

Hey Dutch…

I would agree that the autophagy cleans up and mostly recycles cell material, but I assume that there must be some toxins from the environment (nanoplastic particles) that are not recycled. Researchers found that, on average, a liter of bottled water included about 240,000 tiny pieces of plastic. About 90% of these plastic fragments were nanoplastics. This total was 10 to 100 times more plastic particles than seen in earlier studies, which mostly focused on larger microplastics.

The water contained particles of all seven types of plastic. The most common was polyamide, a type of nylon that’s often used to help filter and purify water. An abundance of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was also detected. This might be expected, since PET is used to make bottles for water, soda, and many other drinks and foods. Other identified plastics included polyvinyl chloride, polymethyl methacrylate, and polystyrene, which is also used in water purification. The method identified millions of additional particles that did not match the seven categories of plastic. It’s not yet clear if these tiny particles are nanoplastics or other substances. These particles become encapsulated to be expelled. So, my take is that the activated charcoal I take after rapamycin the next 2 days, can assist in eliminating any material that is not reused by the body or is toxic. Just a guess.

Hey Jason!

Notice much from taking charcoal? Any faster recovery, etc?

Thanks

I’m on my 3rd week of 5mg having started at 1 and gone up. I’ve had 2 quite awful respiratory viruses - or throat things that caused so much coughing I’ve been exhausted to tears. I think it’s coincidence and that I have a new grandbaby who is probably bringing me viral gifts… But I do wonder. Also, I’m never sure if I should skip the dose (it’s today) or take it if I’m sick. The doctor says “it’s a virus, drink lots, rest, call me if it gets worse, you’ll be fine”. (covid negative, no fever or strep signs)

These are some bad illnesses - no sleep, cough, can’t lift or row, etc. I’ve never had such things, and now 2 in three months. I’d like to say coincidence. But is it the Rapamycin? Could it be?

Hey Dutch… funny you should ask. I did take my charcoal capsules… the morning after my nighttime rapa dose this past week. Like I always do, and my bio gut seems great. So I will keep using… no negative issues.

Cheap and lots in a container.

Good deal, thanks man!

Umi,

You ever looked at Dr Green’s website? He has patients on rapa and mentions he recommends keeping a zpack/antibiotics handy.
Check his site out, I feel sure that info is still on there.

I agree with Doctor Green a 100%…

I actually had z-pack for months til one day I needed it. But inconjuction…I keep a good supply of Doxycycline 500 mg pills. I take once a week (I think Mikhail Blagosklonny recommended it weekly) for the past few years. And, I have a surplus of 20 on hand should anything pop up… can get me healing until I can get to my GP.

If you can get it, I’d recommend everybody on rapamycin keep a small supply of an antibiotic handy.

Keeping antibiotics on hand is a great strategy. I’ve been having a huge number of bacterial infections this year!

I guess that’s part of the problem with taking public transport in a densely packed city.

In the US… you can get an antibotic prescription from an online doctor service.

Say you have acne issues and need Doxycycline that it worked in the past… or… does India supply Doxycycline? Get 100 mg pills.

I have an ongoing prescription, so no issue.

I got some from India last time I ordered Rapa.
