What is the safest way to mail meds (eg acarbose) from canada into US?

Eg I ship my acarbose/rapa to a friend in Canada, and the friend then ships it to me.

What should I do to minimize risk? Does the package even need to be labeled? [the chances of random inspection on any package?]

[edit: asked, one supplier says “50% seizure rate”…] So it may be easier to ship from Roatan, Honduras [Mexico is hard bc it’s hard to know people in Mexico]

Alex, I suspect that its illegal to ship pharmaceuticals between Canada and the USA between individuals, so if you’re labeling it as such it seems likely that it will be confiscated (these are not “controlled substances” so I doubt that anything else would be done, but it seems likely they wouldn’t arrive at their destination if they are labeled accurately).

This isn’t something that people do very often, so I doubt anyone knows what the “safest” way is. I have seen posts on social media by people, when they travel and bring back rapamycin from Turkey to their home country, put the tablets into a vitamin container (in their luggage). Of course, thats different than shipping something, and the US Postal service/ customs process is in turmoil right now so everything is up in the air on any shipments cross-border.

Use a code. Put the acarbose in a vit A bottle. The rapamycin can go into a riboflavin bottle.

What do you mean by “a code”?

I’m curious why one would want to get Acarbose from Canada? I asked my doctor for a prescription, and it’s going to be delivered to my front door from Cost Plus drugs for about $11 for 90 x 25mg pills. Shipping adds a couple more dollars.

I did something similar for Sirolimus a while ago, getting it from CVS for a very reasonable price

I think he may be getting it shipped from India to Canada (because that avenue is still open) than having a friend ship it from Canada to the US.
