We are nowhere near maximal lifespan (new study)

Those born after 1950 have a shot to hit 140 yo according to this new research paper.

It’s no longer a pie in the sky prediction.

“However, the model has a major limitation: It does not account for the biology of aging.”

The model is mathematical and looks at current trends in longevity from a statistical perspective.

The biggest thing I learned is that the longevity plateau really didn’t start increasing until 1950 which coincides with many major medical advances. I am encouraged that at least by the model, the maximal lifespan has not yet been attained and that we may see 120 quite regularly in the future.
