Water only fast and sleeping heart rate

I find this interesting (last night and the night before). I took a large dose of rapamycin with GFJ about a week and a half ago.

Yesterday I did a water only fast. (also no supplements) The day before was a not drinking alcohol day, but not a fast.

What I find interesting is the fast day appearing to be more metabolically active during the night than the normal eating without alcohol.

I did not particularly do any exercise either of the days.

Do you have sleep apnea that you know of?

I don’t have sleep apnea, but I wake a lot at night. I tend to go to sleep in sessions, the above two are the longest night time session.

After I quit my nightly Wine habit my HR dropped from 60 to 45 and HRV went up on average, I am in the top percentage for my age group. I take 6mg weekly of Rapa no noticeable difference in HR or HRV it was bc I stopped the Wine in addition no food 3 hours before bed.

That is what I see. I find it takes two days to clear the effects of a substantial amount of alcohol.

Water-only fasting for me plummets my sleeping HR. At least 5bpm lower at 24h, and 10bpm lower at 48h.

And any alcohol whatsoever makes my sleeping HR significantly higher and my sleep quality so much worse. It’s one reason I pretty much stopped taking in any alcohol whatsoever, because it just ruins my sleep.

I’ve been measuring sleeping heart rates for more than 10 years now, and those two things are always true for me, without fail.
