Vitamin D Target Levels

Key takeaways:

  1. Based on paper provided by the Mayo we should target 50 ng/ml but levels below 100 Ng/ml are fine and non-toxic.
  2. Toxicity occurs above 50,000 IUs daily dosing
  3. Levels below 30 ng/ml are deficient and sub optimal for health
  4. Levels between 50-100 don’t provide excess benefit

I take 5000 IUs daily and have only reached 30 ng/ml. I am upping my dosage to 10,000 IUs daily to get to 50.

Dr. Berg weighs in and agrees to 10,000 IUs which is 250 mcg or 0.25 mg daily.

Since the Mayo clinic agrees, I’m OK with this dosage.
