Has anyone done much looking into whether this substance can affect plaque removal?
I saw one article that claimed it worked on mice, but no human studies relating to plaque specifically.

Unfortunately it’s not even gone to phase 3 clinical trials yet so will likely be some time (assuming it proves efficacious) before the FDA approves it for this purpose.
