Trichostatin-A is an antifungal antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces hydgroscopius. It acts as a potent broad-spectrum reversible inhibitor of class I and class II histone deacetylase enzymes [1]. It also acts as a cell cycle inhibitor. It has not been used in humans, but animal studies provide evidence for neuroprotection, lifespan extension, and anti-tumor activity.
