I am suffering from ENS (Empty Nose Syndrome), and part of my nasal mucosa has been cut. The remaining mucosa is in poor condition; dryness and lack of air sensation are the main symptoms, leading to other complications.
1/ Do you think that a topical cream application could help improve the condition of the mucosa?
2/ I have seen a study stating that rapamycin is an agonist of TRPM8 receptors. These receptors are abundant in the mucosa and are responsible for the sensation of airflow. So, if rapamycin could increase the activation of these receptors, it might alleviate our symptoms.

Has anyone experienced an increase in nasal sensation with the use of rapamycin?

Just an average old person here, but I started noticing in my 60s, a drying of the inner nose area, My nose, I should say I had sinus drying out and shrinkage. It felt like in size a drying out. I didn’t realize how drastic it was, until the a few years of rapamycin use and started refilling my sinuses, and I stopped having allergies from hay fever, which is usually Cedar tree pollen in spring and Ragweed in the fall. I no longer have these allergies. Use to need flonaze to take care of the allergies. Which usually lasted about a month at the beginning of spring and the end of fall. No longer needing this medication.
There is a lot more healthy moistness. Constant wetness blowing my nose before shower in the morning after shower. So there’s definitely change, and a moistness that wasn’t there before.
Witnessed a similar thing with an old dog that was 14 years old. His nose had dried was scabby. After being on rapamycin several months the dog’s nose became cool wet … scabs cleared and started having a curiosity of smelling and going around and sniffing which it hadn’t done for some time.

All oral rapamycin… 6-8 mg weekly… now 4 years.
Sinus full healthy… feels amazing… even nose cartilage seems stronger and healthier. My nose has perked up… not saggy and old. Ears cartilage thickened too. Face plumper in cheeks.
Breathing is fantastic.
