Too Much Sleep?

Too much may be as bad as too little. Not a novel insight, but the paper’s graphs explain it well.

This is an association study, which means they dont know if too much sleep causes dementia or if dementia increases the amount of sleep required.

In fact, they found that people who occasionally oversleep have higher mental scores on days they overslept, suggesting that causality runs from extra sleep causing better brain functioning.
