To Improve Your Gut Microbiome, Spend More Time in Nature

Microbes found in green spaces can transfer into your body, increasing bacterial diversity and potentially boosting the strength of the immune system.

It’s fairly cheap too

I just eat several kg of salad each week, that should do the trick.

The article said that going into nature improves the gut microbiome, presumably by breathing in the “good” bacteria.

So if your salad is full of those bacteria, maybe it will do the same thing.

Thanks for posting this article…I devote much of my time educating people about the importance of the microbiome. Here are some links that explain the importance pf Postbiotic Metabolites.

Hi Karl,

Orally ingested probiotics DON’T WORK. Read my article titled The Oral Probiotic Dilemma which is available on my blog at: The Oral Probiotic Dilemma | Natural Pharmacist

Also…here is a link for a FREE copy of a booklet I wrote titled: Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics & Postbiotic Metabolites; Probiotics & Postbiotic Metabolites | Ross Pelton | The Natural Pharmacist

So, are Dr Ohhira’s probiotics orally ingested?

I asked google about this & found this paper:

By studying salivary and fecal microbial strain populations of 310 species in 470 individuals from five countries, we found that transmission to, and subsequent colonization of, the large intestine by oral microbes is common and extensive among healthy individuals
Extensive transmission of microbes along the gastrointestinal tract - PMC

Babies have their gut microbiome established by what they eat & breath after birth, so it can happen. Maybe many of the microbes that get to the gut come through the lungs, but it seems more likely they come through the mouth.

@KarlT As I recall Dr Ohirra’s products are mainly metabolites of bacteria vs the actual bacteria. That doesn’t ensure it works but it does avoid the problem of dead bacteria not being able to repopulate the gut.

I think probiotic delivery has come a long way. The good ones can get past the digestive system. The cheap ones don’t try.

All I can say for certain is when I took akkermansia (pendulum) I had a definite effect that was negative at first (loose bowels) and then positive (felt good and improved A1c ). Was that the bacteria? I don’t know. Maybe it was the pill coating or binder.

I would say my experience was the same.
