I find it interesting that NAC and Spermidine had so many positive Life Expectancy studies in mice! Rapamycin and Caloric restriction also dominated the top echelons, and metformin and acarbose made a couple of surprise appearances as well!
Based on this data, I’ll definitely be keeping NAC and Spermidine in my longevity stack.
Thanks for sharing this! Very intriguing!
I like these types of data exploration tools. Is it missing a lot of the ITP data though?
It has been updated today, great resource!
What’s up with Metformin? That intervention failed the ITP.
I thought I would post the main link
Metformin looks good if you are a female mouse. Personally I am not a fan of metformin, but I am neither female nor a mouse.
I am not actually persuaded were I to be female (and not a mouse) that I would be a fan of metformin.
Whether the results in female mouse are reliable results I have not thought about.
Metformin is synergistic with Rapamycin. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t take it. The fact it alleviates Rapamycins negatives is the best reason to take it.
That is an argument for it in this specific circumstance. I take Rapamycin quite infrequently, however, and I don’t actually have a sufficient issue with the negatives to concern me most of the time. My last HbA1c was 4.8%. When I take it it disrupts glucose metabolism. I also take Berberine which probably helps although I have not tried separating out the effects of Berberine.
