Ironically going forward with the AI and robotics revolution that is to come and many jobs being outsourced one of the only things that will be of real value is real human connection. While things seem dark in this regard I think we can see a resurgence of real human connection as its own niche that people resonate with.

I think if young men get accustomed to how an AI girlfriend treats them, they’re going to have a hard time adjusting to a real woman. Maybe women will have to learn how to out AI the AI to get a boyfriend.
However, once realistic humanoid robots appear on the scene with AI, the game changes again.

This and dating apps are really doing a number on people. I avoid all of it and just speak to real humans. This is the way imo.

Yeah, I’m with @qBx123Yk on this one… umm, have you been around young bucks? Maybe memories fade, but I think you underestimate how important for young guys is the opportunity to stick it in. Ain’t happening with the AI broad. As soon as the opportunity presents itself, three guesses as to which one is going to walk away with the ring. All the sweettalking AI won’t help when meat needs placement.
And yes, super good robots could rearrange the pieces again, but robots of that quality - truly realistic bedroom performance, oh, that will be a loooooong time coming🙄.
Besides, reproduction is not standing still. You really don’t need men - or women - to perpetuate the human race. You just need the sperm and eggs. One day - fairly soon - pregnancy will be completely optional. All can be done in external artificial wombs. People will donate and get paid for their eggs/sperm, and off to the lab farms where the new hothouse generation grows, without tobacco, alcohol, drugs and bad diet - healthier, better medical care and none of the usual pregnancy problems. In making these straightline projections of doom, people never account for the fact that these are dynamic systems, any developments will have a reaction, not just straight line projection of trees growing to the stars.
But @qBx123Yk is 100% correct. Look at the studies in multiple countries. Affordability is the major determinant in the decision to have kids, and secondarily the position of women and unequal and heavy burden of childcare, lack of support, affordable daycare and so on. There are many studies. In Europe, two very similar countries Poland and Czechia have drastically different population fertility rates: all down to the support women and families get. That is an infinitely greater problem and it started looooooong before AI girlfriends appeared.

Although I agree these are issues, there are also issues about the mtDNA germline.
Not to mention the mental effect of knowing that we are failing to deal with global heating and all its catastrophic consequences.
As long as AI doesn’t provide physical sex, it is pointless for most men.
I think that AI won’t prevent one-night stands. Guys will be guys. However, I think it will detract from long-term relationships that are needed to foster children. One-night stands produce accidental children, which isn’t a very good thing for society. There will be a subset of men who stay at home with their AI girlfriend and pornhub and will not procreate. We’re seeing this already without the AI girlfriends. AI girlfriends are only going to make the situation worse.
I also agree with the affordability issue. That just adds to the problem, but that’s not what this topic is about. Women are also advancing in society faster than men, and it’s a well known fact that most women will not date or marry below their status level. A male CEO may marry that cute and friendly waitress, but a female CEO won’t. The declining birthrate is a multifactor problem which, unfortunately, is getting worse.
True, women are using AI boyfriends for emotional support, to combat loneliness, and avoid modern dating problems. It will probably affect both sexes. However, it will probably affect men more, IMHO.
