As I’ve written previously, I make myself a morning drink before consuming anything, that was composed of 2g of taurine, 1 teaspoon of cranberry powder (freeze dried, whole organic, no additives), and 1 teaspoon of inulin. I dropped the inulin after a poster in one of the threads posted a couple of papers pointing out that there might be a link between supplemental inulin and colon cancer.

I substituted the inulin with 1 teaspoon of wild blueberries (other ingredients remain the same). I am not saying that you get all the benefits of eating whole fresh blueberries by consuming the powder (I also eat a cup of fresh blueberries almost daily), but it doesn’t mean the wild blueberry powder has zero benefits:

Now, the wild blueberry powder is a temporary placeholder substitute for inulin in my morning drink, as I ponder a more worthy ingredient (it’s somewhat duplicative, since I regularly, almost daily consume fresh blueberries), but for the moment it will do.

I thought I’d put this out there, in case you want a convenient partial substitute in case you run out of fresh blueberries - it’s worth keeping in your options.

Wow, thanks for this info, Joseph, that’s super useful. I assume this will apply roughly to freeze dried cranberry powder too? Hopefully. But it’s a kick in the pants, as I’ve been storing these powders at room temperature, thinking that the’d be pretty stable over the span of a month or two. Oops. Into the refridgerator they go!

Blueberries are one of my favorite go-to snacks. They are delicious, healthy, and relatively inexpensive. What’s not to like? This morning, I had a whole box full on top of my Greek yogurt!

Same here… I buy organic frozen blueberries and put them in my morning eggs… lol I am now known for my blue eggs…

I get my inulin from an average of ca 100 grams of onions daily.

You have to try! Scramble 6 eggs in a pan then add a cup of frozen organic blueberries… they melt in the hot pan… mix with the eggs and make them blue and delicious… add bacon and you have the breakfast of champions… :rofl:

I’ve heard of green eggs and ham, but never blue eggs and bacon, but why not?

I’m headed to San Antonio right now for a conference. As soon as i’m back home that will be my morning breakfast. I’ll even take a photo.
