I am 66 and had my first of 3 sessions of RF microneedling. The sessions are 6 weeks apart. Microneedling removes fine lines, skin irregularities, and develops collagen.
I have my sirolimus and am ready to start. Should I wait until the microneedling is done to make sure healing and collagen development occurs?
If I do not wait, how soon should I take the sirolimus?
It it was me, it would depend if I was just starting rapamycin at a low dose (e.g. 1 or 2 mg) per week. I started low, and slowly increased over the first few months. If I was in your situation I’d go ahead and start dosing at a low level because the risk of wound healing impact would (I believe) be quite low. But since I’ve been using rapamycin now for over 5 years with no significant issues, I can now stop and start at high doses without any problems. At these higher doses (over a few mg) I would wait until fully healed before restarting rapamycin. Just my opinion, and what I would do.
