The premature graying in humans probably applies more to later age graying than does the RiverTown mouse study. After all, the mice had radiation induced gray hair. Ironically, the measurement unit for ionizing radiation applied to the mice was…the Gray (Gy)
Might be worth a try with Melitane. It looks to be around $16 per 60 mL box on IndiaMart.
I used alcohol/propylene glycol/water as described in the paper, and accidentally flipped the ratios for water and PG on my first batch of solution than what was in the paper. I plan to fix it on the next batch, but suspect it may not be critical.
Sorry to hijack the thread here but what is everyone’s thoughts of using minodixil for male pattern baldness (early 30s and STRONG family history lol) in someone who had gynecomastia in the past? This is the main reason why I’m hesitant using Finasteride as the link is more clearer. Thanks in advance.
Awesome news, it would simplify things I was just reading this thread wondering if I would be able to figure out how to make the topical. I have been on the oral almost 3 months.
In comparison - my hair is now more brown, bronze, blonde… very natural streaked hue(s) which is what I like best about the tonic. My grey very subtle now.
i’ve been using a homemade mixture from the original paper for 4 months but see no results at all. i have plenty of hair just wanted to test the repigment part. it could be that my concoction isn’t the correct formula as i am pretty amateur in the chemistry dept. meanwhile, i found a compound pharmacy that makes prepared rapamycin skin cream that makes my face feel amazing. i may ask them to try to recreate the hair treatment and try that
That’s a bummer. Were you applying it once or twice per day? How large of an area were you applying it to? Did you have any side effects such as vision problems or fatigue/drowsiness?
According to this Reddit post, clinical trials will be starting this year.
Eirion Therapeutics has a novel treatment entering clinical trials in 2023 that has already been shown to work in humans. It reverses both AGA and hair greying. Hair growth is reported to be 3x that of minoxidil in just 1/3 the time. What’s more is that this drug is not only considered safe, but has anti-aging benefits as well. It works by sequestering a protein called PAI-1. There are a small number of humans who have a mutation which reduces production of this protein, and they live 14 years longer than their contemporaries on average. Here’s a link to Eirion’s website.
May I ask if you ever got around to trying this out?
I am thinking of trying cyclosporine & tacrolimus only based on @Radiata 's experience with drowsiness, since I already use minoxidil and can apply it separately.
