Which idea is the best one for calling for rejuvenation of the body to health, and bodily youth? Here’s Re20’s suggested as one potential one:
The labels of approaches in aging/longevity w/ biggest goals all start with the same letter: R. Seemed interesting for a min but isn’t really. They all come from the same prefix etymology: re- (back, again)
Rejuvenate
Reverse
Repair
Restore
Reset
ReplaceAll used:
Rejuvenation Research: notable journal w/ this focus
Reverse aging: most explicit contrast to slowing it damage
Repair: Aubrey de Grey / SENS preferredRestore: Alex Colville / Age1 label as distict vs Repair or Replace
Reset: Junevity’s platform labelReplace: Jean Hebert
All of these major labels share a strong distinction from just slowing or delaying (or even nearly fully preventing) aging & it’s harms. They all imply an ability to help those already old. They all hint at a bigger effect size than that commonly discussed near ‘healthspan’.
In aggregate, these all have a lot of mindshare, but somehow all the diverse groups using any of these are often not seen as a big coherent group in relative to those pushing slow aging or healthspan as approaches or labels.
If I ever get around to starting a blog or website specifically on pushing rejuvenation, it might be called Re20s (pronounced “re-twenties”) as restoring as much of human health to the equivalent of the health of that decade has always been my main goal in the field.
