Does anyone know the recommendations for protein in g/kg for longevity?
According to this study: International Society of Sports Nutrition position stand: protein and exercise
We want 1.4-2.0g/kg/day for adequate adaption to exercise training.
So for me, 65kg, 91g - 130g per day.
Peter Attia is a proponent of this.
Thank you. It looks like my appetite has me in that range.
1.6 is enough, no need for more than that. There is a later meta analysis regarding this.
I’d be interested to know whether getting a large proportion of your protein from collagen peptides might be advantageous. In theory it should be ‘win win’ because you’d get high glycine and low methionine. From a convenience perspective it’s also easy to hit 1.6g/kg because you can just add a scoop every time you have a tea or coffee…

You’re correct. Here is the PDF A systematic review, meta-analysis and meta- regression of the effect of protein supplementation on resistance training-induced gains in muscle mass and strength in healthy adults
I guess I can eat more fats now💆♂️
Are there vitamins, iron, copper etc in collagen peptides though?
Can I not just get those from dark chocolate?!
