I recently became aware that the plastic bags used to store and in some cases, filter plasma and blood can release chemicals into the liquid. If this is later infused into a person, they will receive the contaminants.
Obviously there are a few factors at play here, such as the type of plastic and how long the liquid is stored in it. This would not be confined to bags, but also plastic tubing.
Does anyone have opinions about this topic? Has anyone that has had plasma diluted or exchanged taken steps to address this issue?
