Peptides / Bioregulators

Sometimes I get an unexpected side effect from my experiments. I like it if they are positive

Recently I decided to board the peptide express. Hopefully, I will be on board earlier than I was on the rapamycin express. Based on what I have read, peptides certainly will extend healthspan if not life-span.

My first actual peptide experiment is with semax. To be honest I was underwhelmed.
Because I had read anecdotal reports on Reddit, I expected to experience something on my first dose. Because I was cautious I probably didn’t take a dose high enough on the first few days.

"Semax dosage 1 to 2 sprays in each nostril once daily for 3 to 14 days.
suggested dosage is typically one to two sprays into each nostril daily.

Typically, a course of treatment with Semax spray can last from 3 to 14 days, depending on the desired effect and personal tolerance." I expect mine to last from 8 to 10 days.

After 3 days I woke up in the morning with no brain fog and noticeably improved mental clarity and function.

The unexpected side effect was it shortened my sleep time to just under 7 hours. I don’t know if this is good or bad. But, I have a clean wake-up with no drowsiness or mental fog. This has resulted in putting off my first mug of coffee. I really think someone could use this if they want to avoid coffee. I don’t know how long this effect will last after I stop taking it.
In any case, I will continue to drink large amounts of black coffee because I love it and believe it has health benefits. At this point I think I would recommend semax to anyone who needs to clear up a little brain fog.

I am also presently taking “OPHTALAMIN®, (Eyes bioregulator) 155 mg/tab, 40 tabs” and
“STAMAKORT peptide complex for stomach x60 caps/pack”
I don’t have any eye problems, but because of my advanced age, I am taking Ophthalmin as a prophylactic. For my stomach, I am taking Stamakort, supposedly for leaky gut issues, etc.
These I imported from Russia. Since I am not currently having any problems with my eyes or gut, I don’t know if they are having any effect, certainly no negative effects so far.

When I finish this round of nasal and oral peptides I will move on to the possibly more effective injectables.
(So many to choose from, so little time)

My first injectable will be "Epithalamin (Epitalon is a synthetic peptide composed of four amino acids and is designed to mimic the naturally occurring pineal gland peptide known as epithalamin.
Originally developed based on studies of epithalamin, a peptide extract from the pineal gland. Epitalon is designed to mimic some of the beneficial effects associated with pineal gland function, particularly in relation to circadian rhythms and melatonin production. Some research suggests that Epitalon may help stimulate the pineal gland to produce melatonin, which plays a crucial role in regulating sleep-wake cycles and has antioxidant properties. However, it’s important to note that while Epitalon is inspired by pineal gland peptides, it is a synthetic compound and not directly derived from the gland itself.

“Inhibits carcinogenesis in rats
May delay the onset of cellular senescence by supporting telomere function
Could potentially reduce the accumulation of senescent cells
Possibly increase telomere length
Potential to reduce risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease
May support overall genomic stability, which is crucial for preventing age-related pathologies.”

Hi DS,

I started Semax yesterday and Epitalon today. My Epitalon is a spray designed for under the tongue. I also restarted Rapa yesterday too, after a 4 week break which included travel time.
If I notice anything I’ll report it.
Cheers

I have finished my Semax protocol.

At first, I was underwhelmed, mainly influenced by anecdotal reports on Reddit, etc, of an immediate lift of brain fog and improved cognition only 30 to 60 minutes after the first dose. Also, from Reddit and other forums, some TED speakers and other presenters use it before their presentations. I do believe from my experience that if you used a higher dose than I used, you would indeed get an almost immediate mental lift.

I felt nothing until about the third or fourth day. Then there was indeed an increase in mental clarity. Anecdotally, I have noticed an increase in my crossword-solving performance and focus and speed in solving sudoku puzzles.

I like Semax and I will be using it periodically.

I am a complete newbie and amateur when it comes to peptides.
Semax was the first peptide I chose because old people can always use an increase in cognition and the fact that it is administered nasally rather than subcutaneously.

It arrived in powder form in a vial that needs to be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water and then transferred to a nasal sprayer.

I was surprised at how little the reconstituted batch of nasal spray was. The kind I ordered was
N-Acetyl Semax Peptide, 30mg.

Fortunately, I ordered the smallest nasal sprayer on Amazon that I could find.
This worked out perfectly for me.
The recommended dose was two sprays in each nostril for 3-14 days, depending on the source and what you are using it for.

My spray bottle lasted for 10 days, with two sprays in each nostril daily.

“Semax was developed by researchers in Russia, specifically at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The discovery and development process began in the 1980s and involved a team of scientists led by Nikolay Myasoedov. The peptide was designed to mimic the beneficial effects of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) without its hormonal activity. Semax has since been studied extensively for its neuroprotective and cognitive-enhancing properties, leading to its use in clinical settings within Russia and other countries.”
“Semax has undergone extensive study in Russia and is on the Russian List of Vital & Essential Drugs approved by the Russian Federation government on December 7, 2011.[1] Medical uses for Semax include treatment of stroke, transient ischemic attack, memory and cognitive disorders, peptic ulcers, optic nerve disease, and to boost the immune system.[2][3][4][5]”

So this was an Amazon order? They have several…probably very similar. Not a Russian order? I may need the Semax to figure out how to use Bitcoin.

The only thing I ordered from Amazon was the small nasal sprayers.

I’ve been slow to come around to the thought of using peptides even though I read about some of them such as Epithalon and BPC-157 some years ago. I’ve read through this thread thoroughly, but it’s a lot to take in. If anyone has the time to simply list the peptides you regularly find useful and what effect you’ve noticed, that will help me narrow down my research. If they have bad side effects or are addictive I’d rather not hear about them. Thanks.

Reading these posts I’m considering adding MOT-C to my intranasal peptide cocktail (which is becoming a bit crowded)

I’m “addicted” to peptides  more accurately I’m addicted to the benefits I see, feel and measure.

My list of regularly used peptides;

  1. Retatrutide - started with Tirzepatide and switch 4 weeks ago - 1 year of use
  2. BPC157 + TB500 - will be 1 year of use in Sept
  3. CJC1295 noDAC + Ipamorelin - 1 year in Sept
  4. MOTS-c - 3 weeks in
  5. Gonadorelin - 4 weeks in

Will be trying Epithalon in Oct and maybe a few others LoL!!

I’m in better shape today at 68 than I was at 50. Fast and I mean super fast recovery, strength and endurance improvements, cognitive improvements, body composition improvements, annual blood panel - best it’s been in 15 years, top 100 in the Rejuvenation Olympics (same for my wife)

Highly addictive to feel this good day in and day out.

I also feel that 2 years of Rapamycin use every 2 weeks has significantly contributed to the efficacy of pretty much every thing I’m trying, from physical to mental.

Side effects - basically none for my wife and I as well as all my family members who are doing similar but not as extensive a program as we do. They are all much younger any way

I’m a peptide super fan too. Of all the peptides, which do you think has been most impactful. What dose, administration route and frequency - please? (As for me - I can’t rate oxytocin highly enough - improved muscles and metabolism)

Since I’ve been overweight most of my adult life, the TZ and now RT have significant impact. Big impact on mental health as well. Not that I had mental health issues but now feel like the one thing I could not control is now, finally under control and that provides significant upside.

#2 and 3 are the 2 that have provided benefits in recovery and the overall “good feeling” and I’m seeing significant improvements as I get back to a basic exercise routine.

As far as dose goes, that may be a somewhat personal thing from a biological point of view. I think I’ve shared that in other posts.

  1. Retatrutide - 2.5mg - weekly - Sunday

  2. BPC157 + TB500 - 500+500mcg - daily - morning

  3. CJC1295 noDAC + Ipamorelin - 250mcg + 400mcg - 5 nights before bed

  4. MOTS-c - just before afternoon workout - 4 days a week

  5. Gonadorelin - 150mcg - 4 mornings a week - with the BPC/TB shot

All of those listed above are subQ injections. I combine some of them to minimize the number of daily jabs

Semax and Selank are seven-amino peptides that share the short Pro-Gly-Pro sequence. Understandably, they have some similar but not quite identical effects. Both can improve memory and cognition, both can elevate mood, and both can have anxiolytic properties. I have Selank in a vile and Semax in a sprayer.

Injection is my preferred method of administration. It controls the dose much better, and you can use a smaller amount. I’m running 300 mcg of Selank twice a week and snorting Semax once a week.

Dr. Seeds says in “Peptide Protocols,” an excellent guide posted in this thread, that higher and more frequent doses can result in desensitization. He also recommends alternating between Selank and Semax.

I used Selank yesterday prior to my dental appointment. The hour-long visit was still an ordeal, but not as bad as usual. I was able to distract myself with simple multiplication, which helped relieve the tedium.

Which peptide that you are taking do you feel you have had the most subjective benefits from?

This is just a random general plug for Thymosin Alpha 1. It’s been mentioned a few times here, but it deserves more attention. If I had to choose one peptide (besides tirzepatide or retatrutide) that I would not want to live without, it would be TA1.

TA1 is what my wife and I inject when the kids come down with a virus or when we start to feel sick. Before TA1, we would all get sick too. With TA1, the last time the kids were all sick for 2 weeks, my wife and I were perfectly healthy.

Yesterday, I had a very sore throat and congestion; viruses are making rounds through the city with school back in session. My HRV has been bad for 3 days. I injected TA1 last night and woke up with still a little bit of a sore throat, but much less, and my HRV is back to baseline. My Morpheus app says I’m good to exercise.

TA1 is a miracle immunity booster. Here’s a nice summary PDF.

Looks promising for MS too

Thats a pretty interesting peptide

On the immune system support side the TRIIM and TRIIM-X protocol is pretty easy to follow and may have a longer lasting effect. I’d definitely use TA1 as a “booster”

Agree completely. I plan on TRIIM soon.

I pretty much answered that for me (not sure who the question was directed at) but it would be a “depends” type answer.

Since I was overweight, the GLP1’s have had the most impact for that.

Since I’m “old” the ability to heal and bounce back was getting impaired, the BPC+TB addressed that.

Since I’m old and the immune system is becoming impaired the CJC+Ipa + DHEA + GLP1 addressed that.

I think the glucose control, combined with the increase in GH production is a factor on the cognitive side of things.

We are incredibly complex creatures to keep running with some level of optimization, as our system runs down with age, and without the kind of testing that someone like Bryan J can afford, I can only go by the simple tests I can afford and how I feel subjectively. And that subjectivity is not the best guide but it is a starting point for individual experimentation.

Where do you get peptides from? Pharmacy?

For me for sure BPC-157 for injury recovery. A MUST to have on hand in fridge and ready to go.

Fantastic results on body composition as far as muscle definition and belly fat from CJC-1295 Ipamorelin and Tesamorelin

Also researching with more health related and longevity ones now like Epitalon and LL-37

It’s an interesting field now, and requires research and testing on ones self.

I don’t use GLP for example as I have never dealt with weight issues, but wife has used Semaglutide and now on Tirzepatide with great results.

Remember we are all different and its about tweaking a routine best suited for the individual

You can buy them for “research purposes” online.
