I don’t think either one will “temper the appetite.” They are weight loss products that work in the gut. Orlistat known as Alli combines with fat in the gut to keep it being digested. Acarbose does the same with carbs. Haven’t tried Alli but Acarbose is notorious for creating epic farting.Acarbose is prescription only but Alli is sold over the counter in pharmacies.

I believe that white kidney bean extract is easily available and acts similarly to acarbose.
