I have been spending some time looking at the Hydra because it can be conditionally immortal. In particular I have looked at the structure of the mtDNA genome. As part of this process I have tasked the three LLMs that I use to do a summary of all mtDNA genome structures and I will upload those documents attached to this topic.
What is interesting is that the Hydra drops 18 of the 20 transfer RNAs. That reduces the pathological source of mutations by about 60% even though it is only a small part of the genome. This leaves areas which can be mutated or damaged
