Hi
I recently started taking Rapamycin as it is now one of the drugs being researched as treatment for M.E. There has been quite a lot of anecdotal evidence that it is helping to reduce fatigue in people with M.E.
I have found that the maximum I can take is 2mgs once a week which has boosted my energy levels by about 30% and I generally feel less unwell.
But if I go above 2mgs the reverse happens.
My question is, could my clean keto diet be affecting the effectiveness of the Rapamycin.
If you think your diet may be impacting the effects of Rapamycin, you could try an experiment of switching to a different diet and gauging if there are any changes.
Everyone has a unique biology and what may be good for you might not be good for others and vice versa.
So why not give it a try?
I’ve been doing Keto with Rapa for about 3 years. My keto diet is not as clean as yours, I eat veg and berries now, though I didn’t at the beginning. My biggest problem was cramps. I think keto and Rapa both make you low in potassium? I increased magnesium and use 1/2 potassium salt to fix that. Magnesium is very important. Attia takes a gram a day of slow mag.
I wonder about Iron too. I think Rapa can reduce Iron. If you’re low then lactoferrin is a great solution IMO. Copper helps Iron too.
Do you have more information on this?
