Low Platelets IT

Not looking for medical advice, just curious…

I am 50 yo, “normal” health, some extra weight with a mild case of IT (autoinmmune disease Low Platelets around 70-100k)

Ive seen “Thrombocytopenia - low blood platelet count” listed as one possible Adverse Event.

Anyone here has something to share regarding low platelets after taking Rapa? How low? For how long?

This is the KEY issue why Im still not taking Rapa

I have been taking rapamycin for approx 6 months. The last two points were taken after starting rapamycin. The last point is April 22, 2022, after approx 5 months of taking rapamycin. Platelet count certainly seems to be rising.
It must be noted that there are many other things that could cause a rise in my platelet count.

Thanks! Never heard about rising platalets while taking Rapa before (As you well said, “there are many other things that could cause a rise in my platelet count.”)

My platelets count is consistently between 200 and 225. I’ve been on Rapamycin for about 2.5 years now. No issues. Dose at about 10mg/week.
