Here is a 72 year old rhematoid arthritis sufferer, who worries about the high cost of medications for his condition, and how he soon may not be able to afford them. The question is whether someone in his position is open to some long shot hail mary gambles on unapproved medications considering the very low cost of both metformin and rapamycin, both of which showed some possible attenuating effects in RA. If you know someone close to you in your life, would you even suggest such a possibility, or would you rather not risk sending them on an unsolicited path with unknown outcomes.
