Low-Dose B-Complex or Multivitamin as an Insurance Policy

For that price you could supplement with all required vitamins and minerals for over 3 years.

I like the spirit: reasonable dosages.

When it comes to the ingredients, some are better than others though. E.g., B12 and B9 seem fine, but B6 should be P5P ideally, not pyridoxine HCL. Choline bitartrate is not best either AFAIK.

Personally, I would also have reservations about:

  • Buying from a smaller / less known brand that has not been tested extensively over the years by 3rd party companies (like Consumerlabs)
  • I wouldn’t want selenium
  • Not sure I’d want to take TMG, hyaluronic acid, choline on the ongoing basis. Eggs are a great source of high-quality choline.
  • Curious about the rationale for having 300% RDA of niacin, while most others are at 50%
  • Why would such low dosages require 5 tablets, lol? Perhaps, because of TMG or hyaluronic acid?

I wish someone just took Thorne’s Basic B Complex, kept exactly the same ingredients, but dosed every single one at exactly 100% RDA, in one tab. A business opportunity?

Almost no one wants the least possible for the money paid.

Yep, that’d be niche. On the other hand, 0.5mg melatonin sells despite much higher dosages being available at a lower price per mg.

You did ask for low potency, so you might check out Biotics Research Bio-3B-G.

E.g., here is Thorne’s “Basic B Complex”:

That’s a lot of Niacin in that B-complex.
