Just before Xmas I did three days not exactly fasting, but eating and drinking very little. Because I wanted to continue taking supplements I also ate a small amount of beef. I also drank tea with milk as well as herbal tea. On the Friday I did not eat until after the blood draw at 11am,
I have just got the results from the blood draw in. Sadly they did not do all the tests, but I found LDL-C and ApoB went quite high (ApoB is normally in the 80s, but went to 117) Lp(a) remained, low. However, at 6.3.
Sodium went really low (132.8 mmol/l - below the normal range) and Insulin did the same (15.4 pmol/l) (not surprising) with a fasting glucose of 4.24 mmol/l (76 mg/dL) a low insulin should be expected, but given that I had adjust previously with rapamycin to having really high insulin I am pleased to confirm fully that the effect of rapamycin was temporary.
I wonder what experiences others have with blood work immediately at the end of longer fasts (not just 24 hours).
I wonder who else has done bloodwork at the end of a fast.
