Is the NIH's National Institute of Aging - ITP Program Dead?

OK so the ITP has some funding.

How do we fund research into what Bryan Johnson is doing to prove that it adds to the number of years we are alive. How do we aggressively fund more ITP research.

Bryan Johnson is a wonderful man for bringing longevity out of the labs to the general public’s awareness, but he does not have a lot of money. Let’s not pick on people with assets. $1 billion is not a lot of money compared to those with dozens or 100’s of billions or a government.

What Bryan Johnson could do for us, is to get those with deeper pockets to give to research because he is recognizable, the public face of longevity, and we can unite behind him. He has the general acumen, and with other scientists, and tens of thousands of his followers we may be able to get more funding.

Time is being wasted. Death is an undeniable reality for every living human on this planet. Every other topic can be argued ad nauseam but not death. Are there chemtrails? Is the sky blue or green? Does the planet warm or cool? You can see what I mean. Let’s stick to one subject we agree on, EXTENDING LONGEVITY BEATS IMMINENT DEATH.

If this generation can make a dent in longevity, and extend life for humans just 10 to 25 years, longevity research will be a success and a starting point for future generations.

OK, now who knows how to reach out to Bryan Johnson?

Agreed. It’s stunning that more people don’t seem to care about it. As you say, death seems imminent for everybody, which is just wild. Like right now, is there even anybody around who was alive during WW1?

Governments should be supporting this research too. If people could live healthier and longer, there would be huge economic gains - both from cost savings and increased economic output. I’d also argue that society would be stronger because you’d have larger families, better support of young adults, more grandparents looking after kids. Yet we seem to want to spend money and argue about everything except this.

Bryan is clearly visually in his 30s-50s so all his stuff abt reversing aging clearly is crap haha

U dont even need a blood test just look at him visually

The stuff he does probably improves his health but reverse aging? Nah

He too will die

The good news is they truly can reverse aging in all cells (ipsc) mice (gene therapy) and organoids now

So it should be possible to reverse aging in humans theoretically just a matter of safety, delivery, etc

For all of the aggressive skincare routines he does with expensive lasers, surgeries and topicals I can see his age in his skin. We really need to put a lot of money and effort into finding something newer and better.

Praying that X Prize healthspan brings out some powerful new therapies.

Its so obvious haha

All his expensive stuff does is possibly slow down his rate of aging…i.e. 0.6y per calender year

But its definitely not reversing his age

U dont need 5k blood tests to tell that just look at him he looks 50yo

He could just like lead a normal healthy active life and cut out all the bs stuff he is advocating for

But then again he is selling his stuff so to me its all part of marketing he is doing haha and doing it very well indeed

Nah I think he looks better than he did but it’s still catching up to him. If I were in his position I’d do a lot of that stuff, but I’d be putting a lot of effort into getting actually effective stuff to come into fruition.
