Is Rapamycin Dead? (Kaeberlein)

That sounds like a good strategy. Where di you hear about once a week for 3 months and 1 month off?

Great to hear it has helped you. I also like RAPA. Out of curiosity have you been doing any of the supposed synergetic meds (.ie Metformin, Acarbose, SGLTi’s or any of lipid lowering drugs) with Rapa, or just Rapa alone?

I don’t think it’s a matter of hearing it anywhere, and some doc’s might have recommended it that way but it is mostly trial and error. Manny people do different versions, i.e. I used to do four weeks on, and two weeks off (but don’t ask me the reason LOL). now I’ve stopped as I’m doing the TRIIM. I intend to do only 6 months of TRIIM because the HGH tends to make my head look bigger (and i don’t like that) lol. Otherwise, I’d probably done at least one year. Plus, I hate the fact that I can’t do RAPA (when on TRIIM) since I also have a positive attitude toward RAPA.

Past 6 months… 3 months rapamycin 6 mg weekly.

Then no rapamycin… 1 month daily HGH 3.5 iu. Dr. Greg Fahy felt rapamycin prevents the thymus from finishing the T-cells… so, a break is needed.

The month break in rapamycin gives the thymus an opportunity to release new T-cells.

Then, back to rapamycin 6 mg weekly.

From my CT scan in February (after 3 months no rapamycin). … I know my thymus is adipose/fat free… and a healthy size.

Seems to be working great :+1:

That’s really interesting Jason. How long have you been on HGH following Fahy’s advice?

My understanding of the thymus is that it largely turns into fat by our mid 60s. Regular exercise is consistently associated with a larger, more functional thymus in older adults.

We’d all like the benefits of a healthy Thymus, Increased naive T cells, Better T-cell diversity, Reduced chronic inflammation and Less fatty replacement of the thymus.

It would be great to be able to preserve a functional Thymus.

Yes, the Thymus is very important to health and longevity. I started daily injections 3.5 iu of HGH in February 2025. I know my HGH stock was good due to my IGF blood test. Prior to HGH my IGF-1 level was 195. Good for a male almost 67 years. After HGH for 6 months my level My IGF-1 scoare was 450.

At one year use - February 2026 I had a CT scan of my thymus - large, healthy and fat free. See CT scan large image and a detail shot.

Now my protocal is 3 months on rapamycin. Then a break and one month daily injection of 3.5 iu HGH. Followed by 3 months rapamycin - than break for HGH one month.

Thymus is top center light grey pointy gland. Large with no fat - seen as white and opaque.
