I take a combo of Apigenin (250mg), Magnesium l-threonate and l-theanine which works well for me for sleep latency plus I am hoping I get meaningful CD38 inhibition from the apigenin and anti-inflammatory effects too:
Luteolin is an HDACi
Is an HDACi slightly stronger than Luteolin.
I have just obtained some Kaempferia galanga or aromatic ginger which contains reasonable amounts of seven Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors (HDACi s). I need to plan a time when I fit this into my HDACi testing routine which I think now has 18 HDACis divided into four quartets and a pair. They all tend to be in the micromolar range although some are in the millimolar range I would not want to use those in the nanomolar range. I think they may be too strong (and also they are not natural substances with histories of being used for human health for 100s or thousands of years). Hence too risky.
Are there any specific markers etc you will be tracking in your testing routine to understand the effect each of these HDACis are having?
I take 3.5 mg of naltrexone every night and by that I mean whenever I can remember — mostly as an anti inflammatory.
I do weekly blood tests. (I did one today and hope to get the results soon) I also record a lot of things and particularly I monitor the effect on hair follicles (I was quite bald and that is reversing, but I can monitor new hairs starting, hairs turning from vellus to terminal and hairs getting thicker {ie the reversal of miniaturisation})
The objective is better cellular function. The effect of that is in producing a wider range of proteins. Hence when I get more skin oil that is a good result.
At the moment, for example, I am making process with my chinups having added 10kg of extra weight to my legs. This is a good test of protein expression contrary to sarcopenia.
However, in a few moments I am off to the pub with my daughter. I have had two days of limited calories interspersed with two days of fasting and I feel like a drink.
To add to this. I am currently experimenting with HDACi s in groups of 4 because there are too many of them to just test one at a time.
@John_Hemming May I ask for your opinion on pros and cons on Luteolin vs Apigenin regarding their effect on healthspan?
I have no evidence on this.
