I know that we normally take a break when we get any of these from rapamycin, but could rapamycin help with them since it is also a kind of antibiotic? I cannot find any info when I search for it. What do you guys do when you get the cold? Continue or break?
I skip Rapamycin when I get sick, but that’s just my personal opinion based on thinking that I want mtor in my immune system running. I also see essentially no downside to missing doses of Rapamycin.
If I have a viral infection, I keep on with the Rapamycin, if it is a bacterial infection (or fungal, parasitic) then I’d hold doing until better due to it’s effect on suppressing humoral immunity. I agree with @KarlT that there is no compelling argument for not skipping a weekly dose of Rapamycin - some people do so deliberately as part of their regimen.
Incidentally, I get exposed to Covid at least 5-10 times per week and haven’t had any illness of significance from these exposures since I started Rapamycin. Get exposed to stacks of flu … don’t get it symptomatically. Coincidence or causation, I don’t know.
In covid, the infection fills the lungs, and rapamycin zaps the It also inhibits the expression of proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL-2, IL-6 and IL-10 and suppresses cytokine storm [14]. Rapamycin interrupts the T cell cycle during their transition from G1 to S phase by inhibiting the interleukin-mediated signal [1]. Rapamycin: Drug Repurposing in SARS-CoV-2 Infection - PMC
It also strengthens the immune system.
