Heliocare / Fernblock

I’ve had a few non melanoma skin cancers & my dermatologist recommends this supplement for being protective against the sun. Anyone familiar with it? I’m especially wondering if it has any contraindications with rapamycin. Rapa is reportedly good as well for skin cancers but it supposedly increases sun sensitivity.

Many years ago I saw something in life extension that supported its use. Also astaxanthin.

I’ll rec La Roche Posay Anthelios UVMUNE400 instead. It is absolutely unmatched for protection in UVA 340-400 nm and especially 380-400 nm. You can get order it from some European websites. These formulations have PFA 35+, whereas Heliocare or equivalent is not going to give more than PFA 8, if that.

The newer UVA filters have molecular weights above 500 Dalton so as not to penetrate the skin and they have better safety profiles than the junk sold in the USA.
