Is there any good DNA test out there? This is one that a friend recommended.
I’m especially interested in the health, diseases and longevity parts of a DNA test.

I have tried selfdecode.com and muhdo.com for the DNA. Both are very interesting, offer a wealth of useful informations for the general public, but, maybe with a few exceptions aside, you cannot trust that their results will guide a pertinent, individualized course of action or medical intervention. We just don’t master this DNA stuff nearly enough for that. Yet. It’s too big, too intricated. I think that we are going to get there, eventually, but this is not for just this week, I’m afraid…
Review nebula
Lot’s bad reviews for Dante but I got my 30x WGS very fast
My doctor said 23andMe is good enough for our purposes, however (7 Best DNA Tests for Health and Longevity in 2021 - Longevity Advice) is an excellent source for everything one should consider when doing a dna test and deciding which test is best for what you specifically want.
Just FYI :
Not sure how reliable source is but just bumped into this article :
“ Remember That DNA You Gave 23andMe?
The company is in trouble, and anyone who has spit into one of the company’s test tubes should be concerned.”:
Gene tests have very little practical use at this point as I have written about before here:
That said, if you do decide to get some gene test, it makes little sense to get some test that sequences only parts of your genome. The prices are low enough that it makes more sense to get the whole genome sequenced at some place that gives you the raw data. You will then be able to use the raw data to analyze the genome, not only right now, but also in the future when we will have better methods for doing so, at which point having your raw data will be of more practical use
I tried The DNA Company - complete rubbish. They only test 85 markers, which isn’t nearly enough (and they don’t make this clear upfront - you only find out after paying and receiving the report). I was hoping to confirm whether I genetically have Gilbert’s Syndrome, but their test didn’t include the key UGT1A1 variant (*28 / rs8175347). Now I have to retest elsewhere. Frustrating and a waste of time.
I did this test ( Nebula Genomics) several years ago. I was pleased with the initial reports. Despite an initial agreement for lifetime access to results, I am no longer able to access my data without paying significant annual fees. So, if you want annual fees, that’s one thing. If you want a reputable company that lives by its agreements, I would suggest you go elsewhere.
