Forget rapamycin, meet the Peruvian farmer who beat aging by chewing coca leaves and eating avocados

And according to one of those publications at the supermarket checkout stand, Elvis was recently seen celebrating his 90th birthday at a secret location together with a visiting Alien. Both had a coke laced chocolate cake. In the end I have no doubt it will be Elvis who breaks all records, when he’ll hit 150 years old according to some future sighting reported by residents of a remote village. He’ll be having avocado toast.

Speaking of shorter stature, it might be correlated with certain longevity benefits, including:

  1. Lower IGF-1 levels: Shorter people may have lower levels of insulin-like growth factor 1, a hormone associated with aging and cancer risk.

  2. Lower calorie needs: They generally require fewer calories.

  3. Lower risk of some chronic diseases: Some studies suggest shorter individuals may have a lower risk of certain age-related diseases, possibly due to lower oxidative stress or metabolic rate.

Following the combination of supplements approach proven here, I think I’ll try some coca leaf, avocado and opium on whole wheat sourdough toast.

Paraphrasing Nir Barzilai from Albert Einstein Medical Center (who follows largest cohort of Centenarians), once you hit 8th decade of life, only the genetically endowed make it to 9th decade and beyond!
Nature vs Nurture balance gets tilted in favor of Nature.
That is not intended to discourage people from nurture piece though.

The nurture part so far only included the boring stuff like diet which barely moves the needle in terms of longevity.

Importing coca leaves is not a good idea.

In the USA…

You are assured to receive a visit from DEA…

It would cost you much less to relocate to the Countries where coca leaves can be purchased and use them in that Country.

What’s interesting, are those folks who are in their 90’s, but have never been to the doctor’s or been only once, when they’ve broken a leg or such. Can you imagine? And here we go to docs, take drugs, get tests up the wazoo, and honestly how many of us going to be in as good a shape in our 90’s and into the 100+.

Eternal Life? The secrets of the centenarians

I went to the doctors and dentists almost all my life and it all only got worse. Now I avoid them like the plague and I feel better and better, even the teeth do better without them “fixing” anything anymore.

All in the interest of health research, of course:

As far as the DEA is concerned, I’m happy to be retired now and don’t have to give them $888 anymore for a license.

From the article / PR posted;

“This is the second import of coca leaf into Canada that Magdalena has completed. It was authorized by the Peruvian Health Authority, Dirección General de Medicamentos Insumos y Drogas (DIGEMID), and acquired from the Empresa Nacional de la Coca (ENACO), the only company in Peru authorized to distribute coca leaf.”

Small traded company, PR release.

Someone try this in the USA, see how far you will get.

It is interesting that larger species tend to live longer, but within species the smaller members tend to live longer

I don’t think this is accurate.
If you didn’t have access to pharmaceuticals, diet and lifestyle could get you most of the way.

  • low SFA and possibly cholesterol diet (low apoB)
  • low salt diet (low risk of HBP)
  • low or normal calories (lower risk of multiple diseases).

I’d say in a magical world where food wasn’t ultra processed and palatable and was low sodium, and everyone forgot it existed, eating some form of a magical sweet potato, most disease wouldn’t happen that’s happening today. But now we have pharmaceuticals that mimic most of these effects.
