I have several packs of Sirolimus that have just expired. They were manufactured in 2022. Do you think it’s safe to take the expired Rapamycin?
Thanks.
Just expired should be fine. However, if you are worried, you can take a blood test to see your levels. As far as I know, it should not be toxic, but it might lose potency if it gets too old.
Expiration date is normally based on testing while storing in conditions stated on the package.
If the producer has not tested for longer then two years of storage that will be on the package; criterion is at least 95% of described quantity/concentration must still be there.
(the producer may have no incentive to make longer storage possible! $$$)
Rarely if ever it is about toxic degradation products.
If you did store it dry and cooled it may be good much longer but you have no guarantee whatsoever.
No problems… Read this
I have just taken some Rapamycin that expired 14 months ago. Do you think it can be problematic
Hey Brian,
Can you dose and do a siriolimus Labcorp blood test 2.5 hours after dosing? That will be your proof.
I think it has been proven my Surendra Nath Sehgal that Rapamycin has a long stable shelf life.
I use rapamycin 2 years post delivery… just keeping in a dry …cool… dark dresser drawer and it is good.
How do I know? Labcorp blood test. See my recent test below.
Took 8 mg… should get 3 ng/mL per 1 mg. Got 25.6 ng/mL. Full power. Actually got a high dose warning.
Went back to 6 mg weekly afterwards. High dose can give me clogged eye ducts for a week. Not fun.
Rapamycin/Zydus is good even after 2 years…
BTW - you look like an older Matt Kaeberlein. Hahaha.
I’ve used pills 5 years past the expiration date and they worked just fine.
I am in the UK so not possible. Is I look like an older Matt Kaeberlein a compliment
Hahaha…well, I never said Matt K. was good looking, but more recently he is physically built like an American CHAD.
CHAD - a hypermasculine, “alpha male”. Can be used admiringly, sarcastically or disparagingly.
As to testing, too bad . But as Luke says and my tests prove. If its real rapamycin… you are likely good on a long past user date shelf life.
We probably should put some effort into finding a UK lab that does Rapa testing. I would like to know how high my high doses go.
I keep it in the fridge. Solid it should be ok. It is less stable dissolved in DMSO.
