Exercise and Longevity - Daniel Lieberman

The Evolutionary Anthropologist from Harvard, Prof. Daniel Lieberman does a 10 minute presentation on exercise in healthspan and lifespan, compares humans to animals including primates, modern humans living in developed countries with hunter gatheres, refereces the grandmother hypothesis. He also throws out some numbers for exercise time and mortality risk, mentions autophagy, name checks rapamycin, metformin, caloric restriction, time restricted feeding, cold plunge, and more. No real surprises, although slightly loose and not up to the level of precision I’d wish for optimallly, but a good intro to some of the main concepts in the longevity field. Worth the 10 minutes, IMO:

Lieberman’s book is well worth the read. You can get a more detailed synopsis of the book from the talk he gave at Google 3 years ago.

Don’t understand the title at all.

I’m not sure what’s unclear about the title - if it’s about the title of my post, perhaps it would’ve been more clear had I written “the relationship of exercise to longevity” instead, but I’m just guessing. I would be happy to elaborate on any aspect of the title that is found to be puzzling, perhaps I didn’t do a good job of it.
