Estimated Exposure to 6 Potentially Hepatotoxic Botanicals in US Adults

I thought this was worth a better look the botanicals are:

turmeric was most frequently reported, followed in order by green tea, ashwagandha, Garcinia cambogia , red yeast rice, and black cohosh products.

I intend going through all of these, but I have looked at 13.

Interestingly it appears that 7 of the 10 cases had a particular allele.

Sadly I cannot find out about the dosing, but ALP and ALT were really high.

How do you know which botanical, food, or spice is hepatotoxic?

Basically: only take supplements from brands you trust, and do not take botanical supplements?
