Yes. Curing all viral infections is orders of magnitude more simple than curing aging. Curing aging is far more complicated than most people realize. I don’t even have high confidence that superintelligence could do it fully, because there are some limitations rooted in fundamental physics that may be impossible to overcome completely.

I don’t think it is a matter of entropy but more so of the sheer number of things that break independently.
The “sheer number of things that break independently" isn’t separate from entropy. That exactly how entropy shows up complex biological systems. Aging isn’t one failure mode but the simulataneous accumulation of many errors and slow damages that are driven by entropy. The combined accumulation and spread of various failing parts is exactly why aging is so much harder to solve than something like targeting viral infections.
